I stopped here during a recent trip in the D-Day beach area. The town was an area where forces landed in the D-Day invasion and there are quite a few memorials related to this. The famous church where one of the paratroopers was caught in...More

Well worth spending time here after the museum visit wandering the streets and reflecting on what you’ve just seen. Nice wide open square and several places to eat. Recommend.

Always wanted to travel to Sainte Mere Eglise and see all the historic sites. Still holds the small village atmosphere along with terrific restaurants and museums!

Definitely worth a quick visit as the first town liberated after D-Day. The church still pays tribute to the paratroopers and John Steele.

Such history here, you can only imagine what that night of the 6th June was like for the paratroopers and locals alike, also the German soldiers who found themselves fighting for there lives too.

Tourist trap town. They easy routes into town all lead you to paid parking, but if you drive one street further, you can park for free. I've noticed this in other towns on the D-Day route, so not falling for it anymore.

The day we arrived, there was a lot of activity with the D-Day activities. Flights were passing, amusement park rides were ongoing, a static exhibit of WWII vehicles and lots of people.
