We decided to drive out last minute and were so glad we did. It is a beautiful drive from Vegas with great scenery and winding roads. We rented a car ourselves instead of paying for a tour group. It was around $70 for the day...More
Interesting tours and exhibits, but incredibly crowded. We had to park in an overflow lot across the dam from the parking garage, and hike about a quarter mile. Something to consider if your party has someone with physical challenges. The food court was equally crowded,...More
We have been to the Hoover Dam before, but felt the need to drive up to the top and take pictures and enjoy the view. We were traveling home from Carson City where my Mom gave me a lot of things, as she is down...More

Sure! It's not a bad drive. But, if you are wanting to go on a tour, plan to get there early in the busy season, We arrived just before opening and still stood in a line and ended up in the second group of tours. (That was in March.) But, there's a parking garage there and the overall experience is definitely cheaper to drive one's self than take a tour.
