Informative centre with many displays on volcanic activity, fauna and flora. Staff were very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful. Many maps, brochures and leaflets to help your decide what to do. A good souvenir shop

This visitor centre was well equipped with all the information that a visitor centre should have. Not only were the staff friendly and knowledgeable,there's even exhibits about the geological environment,how volcanoes were formed and also a cinema. Merchandise are also available. Definitely worth a visit....More

We were looking for advices and a go/no go for a winter tongariro alpine crossing. We ask a very nice DOC member, and he gaves us very usefull information. Thanks to that we had a amazing day at Tongariro alpine crossing.

stopped in here to ask where to go to see snow. They were very helpful :) also there was toilets across the street, and there were interesting displays to look at too.

This is a well done info centre with Volcanic information plus a description of the hikes available in the park. Well worth the stop to get accurate information.
