We had a great time doing the Cliff Walk. The ocean views are spectacular and so are the mansions (though most are not visible from the path). The hike was great, but portion of it are not for the weak. The first mile or so...More

I think the place could be more interesting if you dedicate an entire day to really see the mansions. The entire path and back is around 5 miles. Kind of touristy but ok

The Cliff Walk is always a must when you're in Newport! Although I've been many times, it never disappoints. Beautiful ocean views, gorgeous mansions, great weather. What more can you ask for?

This is one of the nicest places to visit in Newport. The path has been fixed up and the view is incredible, great spot for viewing and walking.

I don't think there's anything in the world quite like this spectacular people's-right-of-way walk with historic mansions on the one side and ocean vistas on the other.

Very enjoyable walk along the southern tip of Newport. The sun was shining which made all the difference. We did the whole length much of which is paved but some of the western sections were very arduous - these are marked in red on the...More

Very windy and wet day. Great walk. The parts off-path must be done with great care seeing you over a cliff with no protection.

I have done the Cliff Walk numerous times and it never fails to deliver. The ocean views, the smell of the sea, and the mansions all make it worth while! Not to mention it is free! Bring a jacket because it can be windy.

Exhilarating walk along the clifftop on a stormy day! Enjoyed watching the surf as we passed by the mansions. The majority of the path is very easy - paved with fence. There is a section past the Breakers where it is necessary to walk over...More

I apologize but am unable to answer your question generally. A large part of the walk consists of a concrete surface, but you’d have to check the rules. However, the areas of the the path that consist of rocks are... More

Most of the mansions for public touring are not readily accessible from the Cliffwalk. Often there is fencing between the Cliffwalk and the mansion's lawns.
