The statue with the pacific behind it is a great place to take some surfing photo's. We spent the afternoon here swimming in the ocean and watching the surfers.

Our kids enjoyed reading about Duke and wanted to check out the statue. Did a little shopping and lunch near here on our way out of town. Wish we could have spent more time walking this busy area of the city.

Most people say its just a statue - but it is a tribute to Duke Kahanamoku, one of the best surfers and pioneers.
