This might be our favorite geyser basin! There are short or long walks - you can choose one or take several. The features in this area are diverse and captivating. Stand and watch the Hurricane Geyser - hopefully you'll see it go off. It's also...More

These are two of my favorites in this area. The regrowth of the trees since the 1988 fire is amazing. New trees are so thick you could never walk through.

I liked that Norris Geyser Basin. It was amazing that there were so many water vapors. At first I thought there was snow. It wasn't. It was too hot. Then i looked at the different colors: I liked one especially, it was light blue. A...More

Despite all we had seen throughout the park, this was stil an amazing site. There were hundreds of fumeroles it seemed. Amazing and a bit scary to think what this area could produce under the rigiht circumstances

A collection of geysers to rival Old Faithful. A walk through a geyser field that gives you a view of what lies below the surface. It's bubbling up to give you pause as to when the super volcano will blow. Interesting walk back in time.

We took the longer loop around both areas so it was quite a walk. The geysers, springs, etc were very interesting. There's more color in the shorter loop but the walkway is much steeper. Glad we made the effort but its not for someone with...More

This site has an extensive network of boardwalks to all the many hot springs and geysers. The whole area is just amazing to behold. Steamboat geyser is huge.

We went in late September so not tourist crowds, easy parking and brisk one hour walk through the basin. Really colorful and active geysers which made for great photos. Do not miss out on Steamboat Geyser, the world's tallest active geyser. It erupts about once...More

Another wonderful walk through "Hell of the surface" of a beautiful geyser basin. Parking was difficult and the paths were very crowded and congested - folks arriving by the busload. Despite this, it was a great visit to one of the most unique spots on...More

There is considerable walking. We were there in a snow shower which turned into pouring rain and didn’t spend as much time as we would have without the rain. We were there for about 2 hours. Most of the hot springs area... More
