I would recommend Nungwi for the amazing sunsets, the beautiful beach and if you’re looking for dynamic places, with many people to talk to, and to play with!
If you’re looking for a calm and empty beach, try Paje ;)

Each day can be full of activity and it will be enough to see the highlights. If you want some relaxation time which I highly suggest, you need time to soak up the beauty of this amazing place, then stay longer. You can easily spend a lot more time and still have many new activities to do.

I recommend arranging a visit to Stone Town and perhaps also a Spice Farm visit on the way back. The beaches are amazing and we really enjoyed walking up and down each day (putting the stranded star fish back in the water at low tide :-)). As others have said, either snorkelling or even diving is easily arranged. A lot depends on how long you are there for and what kind of holiday you want.
