A tiny town where tour groups stop either before or after visiting Colca Canyon. The church is nice enough but there are also plenty of ladies with their baby alpacas touting for photos. Obviously stalls selling souvenirs, goes without saying. If you weren't on a...More

Like all other tours of the Colca Valley, our coach stopped here briefly to enable us to quickly look around. Maca is a pretty little village with colourful locals, traditionally dressed selling typical Peruvian arts and crafts. At the center of the town is the...More

Maca is a cute little town we stopped in on our return form Cruz del Condor. The white church has a walled terrace with urn like decorations. Definitely worth a look. There are alsopotential photo opportunities with colorful locals here.

Stopped by on our journey through the Canyon. From the outside, possibly just another church in a small Peruvian village, but the inside makes it special. What a beautifully decorated interior. Well worth a detour from the main road.

At 3652 metres above sea level and at the base of the Sabancaya volcano, this church has a great history - with more recently surviving an Earthquake. Built in the 1600's, this white washed church has so much to offer. Inside there are the most...More
