- Cosyastoast91 contributionsPuck's GlenLovely scenic walk with great views, lots waterfalls and wildlife. Was bit slippery underfoot the time of year we went and the wet weather we have had towards end of the year. Could have been signposted better as once at the top was bit confusing where other roads led. Amazing views of Holy Loch @ Dunoon. Unfortunately Botanic garden was closed for the season so struggled to get a hot drink on our decent which would have topped the day off well. An experience well worth a visit.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten January 24, 2024
- Tom Price94 contributionsElven PathStraight from a storybook. An unforgettable walk through the forest. Wear good shoes. Pick a quiet or wetter day to have the gorge walk to yourself. The bus from Dunoon can take you here but be sure to check with the driver, as some buses stop short.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 4, 2024
- Alan HWhitchurch, United Kingdom271 contributionsScotland 2024We had heard a lot about Puck Glen and it didn’t disappoint us. It’s a magical place. You will need walk shoes as it’s very damp in areas and rocky. It’s a good hours walk with some challenging step steps and slight hills to climb. So paths are very narrow with a drop to the river. It has small car park for around 30 cars. Well worth a visit.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 17, 2024
- ltu00England, United Kingdom94 contributionsBeautiful and magicalBeautiful trail with an abundance of waterfalls and a magical atmosphere. Steep in some places and although plenty of areas with hand rails it is wet underfoot with uneven paths. Definitely one for the able bodied. Children will love it but small children need reins/hand holding due to drops into fast running water from the path.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 18, 2024
- Peter T5 contributionsEnchanted glenHaving wanted to visit this place since we booked a local holiday, i was a bit aprehensive when we got there due to the steep gradient going up. However it was well worth it, as the scenary, surroundings, smells and sheer beauty of the place more than made up for it. Even if you dont believe in fairys, magic or have any spiritual beliefs, there is something other worldly about pucks glen which gives it a very special feel and dare i say it brings you closer to nature. I would definately recomend this to anyone wanting or needing to reconnect or get in touch with nature as a special place to visit.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 15, 2024

Puck's Glen is a must-see if in the area. To be able to wander through the Glen and enjoy a magical, natural experience is quite something in this age of instant pleasure on demand and technology. A visit out of season is recommended to avoid the crowds.

An absolutely stunning walk. We regularly walk/hike but for me it’s usually somewhat begrudgingly! I saw the photos and reviews on trip advisor and couldn’t resist suggesting it as it’s only a relatively short walk, however has some of the most incredible scenery I have ever seen. We couldn’t believe how green everything was, it was like something out of Jurassic World or Lord of the Rings. We did the red walk and walked clockwise as per some earlier reviews as I was slightly tentative being that I’m 30 weeks pregnant with a dodgy pelvis! I put my support band on and managed it no problem, just taking my time. There are quite a few stone stairs towards the end, and towards the top of them there was one marker to either turn left farther along the gorge over bridges, or go right and higher up. We consulted the map and decided to go higher up some more stairs which it turns out was the right way. At the very top of the stairs we also then came across a bench and 2 red route markers, one leading uphill and one to the forest. We saw a couple we’d seen earlier coming from the hill towards the forest and checked that we were now heading down, which turned out to be the right way. The top route was closed for logging but I didn’t fancy anymore uphill waddling by this point so it’s maybe for the best!
I can’t say how long it took as I lost track of time, but is only 2 miles so wouldn’t take the average non-pregnant person very long! We did stop to take lots of photos along the way too, and my 7 year old asked if we could do it again as even he was in awe at the surroundings. Highly recommended.

Pucks glen is a beautiful and magical place to visit, it's so tranquil and peaceful.
It takes about an hour to walk the full circuit or you can take the short cut which cuts it in half.
We did the circuit clockwise but If we were to return be would probably do it anticlockwise as it is quite steep in some places.
It's definitely somewhere I'd love to again, possibly after the rain, as we visited on a very dry day.

Absolutely spectacular scenery! It didn’t feel real, it was like a movie set! This is decent walk and has free ample parking. It is best to follow the trail clockwise so that you are climbing up the waterfalls and walking down the forest paths! Make sure you have suitable footwear as it is slippy and uneven at times.
Our family will cherish the memory of our time spent here and I for one will never forget this place!
There is nothing else to say but just go and see this for yourself if you are able to!

It's a bit of a climb to the top of Puck's Glen, but then you descend into it and is it wonderful. Waterfalls. Narrow. Ferns and Lichens. Gave it 4 stars because the bottom part of it was closed because on unsafe bridge, and that looked just as good as the top half.

Pucks Glen is an absolute gem. A light bit of exercise climbing to the top but fully worthy when you follow the magical stream down to the bottom. Astonishing views, magic around every twist and turn.
Take time to look at the views behind you.
Might not be suitable for those unsteady on your feet especially in the wet.

Is it safe to take my 10 month old in a sling?
Written May 7, 2018
I've seen other walkers with their small children there, they just take it at a leisurely pace. There are handrails in the main glen part but not so much on the walk to that. It can be a little steep in places but not too bad. I wouldn't recommend taking your 10 month old if the weather is particularly hot that day, there are some parts on the walk to the glen which leave you wishing for some shade but the glen itself is lovely and cool. Hope that helps. :)

Are there buses to pucks glen as we are not bringing our car
Written July 13, 2015
We found out that on Sundays there are no buses which would go that direction and therefore a local taxi provider runs a "taxi shuttle service" to the Benmore Botanic Garden, which costs £3 per person. We just simply went to the visitors advice centre and they recommended this service. Otherwise I think there are buses running the other days, but I am not sure how often. The taxi will bring you to the Botanic Garden and from there it's just a wee walk to the Puck's Glen.

Is there regular buses to pucks glen
Written July 13, 2015
I took a bus from Dunoon which stopped by the diner at the bridge, a few minutes walk away from the start if the walk. I recall I took it from the foot passenger ferry terminal but can't remember the number if the bus

I would like information about walks in the Dunoon area!
Written April 14, 2015
Can anyone tell me how long of a walk the different path options are? (and which one would be the shortest?)
We will have someone with us that needs to limit her walking however I am hoping one of the trails might be short enough to allow us to see part of Puck's Glen.
Written March 5, 2015
Yes go through the gate and keep left take you up past waterfall then back down about 30 mins
If you go to the tourist board in the town centre the May have a leaflet with a map of the different walks

It would really depend on the disability, if a wheel chair is required id sadly say no as there are a few parts which require stepping over boulders, there are also some narrow paths and it can be a little muddy. Anymore questions just let me know :)

Is there a charge? Are dogs on lead allowed?
Written January 6, 2015
No charge made and it is beautifully maintained by forestry commission Scotland. Hats off to them.
Dogs can roam free on or off lead but taking a pooh bag and keeping the dogs under control, with lead if necessary, when passing walkers on the steeper and narrower sections is much appreciated and champions the cause of responsible dog ownership.
