A wonderful find for a city mouse like myself - I did a horse trail ride with some friends and felt entirely safe and looked after by Lorrie and her staff (who were incredibly focused on the health and safety of both the humans and animals). So much so that I signed up my children (5 and 8 yrs old) for (staff led) pony rides and then also a farm summer day camp a few days later. They had a blast with the other kids at the camp, doing the organized farm activities which included learning about basic animal care, outdoor games, and more pony rides. All while fed some delicious snacks and lunch. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the Hastings County area - about 45 min from either Belleville or Peterborough (though I recommend booking with adequate advance planning as this is a working farm/ranch with only limited time slots for these activities, which get booked up!).

This past week while on vacation My 3 grandchildren twins aged 5 (one with a cast on his lower leg) years old went on a pony ride and the 13 years old and I went on a trail ride. We arrived 30 minutes early and the staff kindly asked that we do not wander around the farm but we could wait in our vehicle and use the outhouse if needed until they were ready for us. We waited until our appointment time, and the friendly staff came to get us. Let me tell you I have never experienced such a knowledgeable staff. We were fitted with helmets and given a short leason on how to properly ride the horses on the farm. Our horses/ponies were selected for use based on our weight and I'm sure other areas as well. They treat all the horses/ponies with the upmost respect. They are as concerned about the aminals having a good ride as well as the visitors that come to the farm for rides. The rides had a very comfortable atmosphere, tips were given to us as needed, as a gentle reminder. We conversed during the ride and the mother daughter team (and the gentleman that helped with the pony rides) was more then happy to answer all of my many questions. I will definitely be going back when in the area again. Thank you

We saw the sign on our way to Callaghan Rapids for an outing one day. We thought it might be fun to try a trail ride so we booked a time a week out. My 12 year old daughter and I never rode a horse before. Lorrie was great in setting us up and instructing us on how to ride properly. The trail ride was really pleasant, we went through a corn field, a mature wooded area and along the Trans Canada Trail. We were accompanied the whole way with two guides. We enjoyed ourselves so much that my daughter asked me to go their 3-day girls horse/farm camp. She came home with stories about riding, swimming, feeding the chickens and letting the calves suck her fingers. They also provided great lunches. I highly recommend Horsin Around Riding Ranch for their trail rides and summer camps.

Great experience at this beautiful farm. The family (Lorrie and Jasmine) that runs this place were amazing hosts and my girlfriend and I definitely plan on coming back. Jasmine went above and beyond and even let us feed their new sheep.

The can tell these people really care for their guests and much as they care for their animals. 11/10.

Went on the 4.0 mile trail ride with Jasmine and her team. It was an amazing ride!

We were welcomed by Lorrie, who took the time to fit us with helmets, choose the perfect horse for each of us, and made sure we were safe and comfortable for the ride ahead.
The horses were well behaved and friendly. Jasmine and her team were very nice,
well organized, and professional. There were a variety of trails that made the ride fun and interesting.

Would definitely recommend it! We hope to have the opportunity to go again this summer.

I took my daughter to this wonderful place today. As soon as we drove in we saw 6 or 7 beautiful horses. The animals were extremely well taken care of. Then we met the owner and her staff who were very freindly and knowledgeable. We got fitted for helmets and met our horses next we were given a safety talk and off we went. The trails were wonderful and well maintained. Overall an amazing experience and would highly recomend this place...5 stars

We all had such a great experience riding the horses. Even though I didn't have any experience with horses, I felt safe and had a great time. The owners gave clear instructions to ensure that we were safe and the horses were comfortable as well. I was extremely impressed with the knowledge and respect the owners had for their horses. The route we went on was very scenic with a mix of trail, trees and open fields. I would love to go again to experience the beauty of all the landscapes in every season.

Our 7 year old grandson and his buddy recently attended one of the Young Farm Scout day cams . The camp was well organized from drop off to pickup and both boys enjoyed their day and came home with lots of stories to tell and awesome memories. We’ve also had the pleasure of going on trail rides, something we hadn’t done in a very long time. Lorrie and her helpers were wonderful in helping us to remember our unused riding skills and literally get back in the saddle again. We look forward to booking again for the Fall.
Oh, and last but not least, their chickens lay the best farm fresh eggs.

My son and I came here to experience our first horseback nature trail ride this month. This place definitely did not disappoint. Being greeted by Lorrie, she was super friendly, and took great care in ensuring that we were fitted with the right helmet and horse . The horses were so well-trained and calm and such beautiful animals. Being our first time riding a horse, it was AMAZING! Scary at first but after a few minutes, it was so peaceful and exciting. The horses knew where to take us and we just sat back and enjoyed the ride, the forest, the field, the scenery, the fresh air. Beautiful! Lorrie and Jen are so knowledgeable and so friendly it was a joy chatting with and spending the ride with them.

Definitely coming back next year when they re-open, longer ride for sure! Thank you ladies and looking forward to seeing you again next year! :-)

Horsin Around Riding Ranch was amazing from start to finish very informative pre ride lesson. Horses were wonderful temperament, we were beginners and felt immediately at ease upon mounting the animals. Trail ride was beautiful stopping at the river for the horses to drink and letting them snack in the hay fields. I would recommend the 4 mile ride as it is totally worth it. Wonderful experience from start to finish, will be going again.
