What a gorgeous little island!! The Franciscan monastery is purely to view and it’s lovely to walk around, it the main attraction is having the wild deer eat from your hands. Bring some apples, break them up and don’t be alarmed when they all charge toward you : )
Top tip, don’t approach them when the taxi boat drops you off. Wait until that excitement has dispersed and then find a couple and feed them by hand. They’re so gentle and beautiful.
The restaurant has beautiful staff and the water is sublime. Don’t expect too much. This island is for feeding deer, having a little hike and going for a swim in the most beautiful and pristine waters.
If you have a bit of money, I’d recommend going here and then to Vrnik for lunch at the arts club. The menu there is odd because the main courses are ridiculously expensive, but what they list as starters are actually also main meals. I can highly, highly recommend the asparagus carbonara, which actually has pancetta and is truly a beautiful dish and a main meal by anyone’s appetite.

Island accessible by taxi boats located at the eastern marina of Korcula.
Deer are not fierce and nice to see in such a place.
Prefer to walk 15 min to reach the other side of the island where the place for swimming is superb.
We had lunch on site at the small restaurant which is also quite correct, considering the secluded place.

We visited Badija as a part of our visit to Korčula island. We took a taxi boat that we payed 70kn per adult and 35kn per child, it makes a round tour with traditional boats every 30 minutes. the island is beautiful but you must be carefull because of the wasps and deers that are freely walking around and can get a bit iritaded during a mateing season which is in August :-P

The island was well worth the visit by water taxi but beware no open toilets or anywhere to buy drink or food so go prepared. Both Resturants & Kiosk were closed. Taxi was also every hour instead of 30 minutes when we visited first week in October.
We did the stunning circular walk round the island which took about an hour 20 minutes. The path was wide and well defined all the way round but surprisingly not well advertised. Didn't have time for the Monistry or energy to walk to the top to see the old Church which apparently had stunning views of the surrounding islands. You could easily spend a day there with easy access beeches but just go prepared.

A beautiful island only 20 minutes water taxi ride from Korcula. We were greeted by young deer standing on the pier! The island is full of them and they seem very people friendly. The Franciscan monastery building is beautiful and there is a nice ling path around the island with lively beaches. The restaurant had a very good food offerings for prices lower than Korcula. Highly recommend the visit.

We visited this island with the taxi boat leaving from the opposite side of the port in Korcula, it cost 50 kuna round trip over person if I am not wrong. It was definitely a good choice, the island has no inhabitants, only deers. They are so cute. You can take photos with them and feed them. The beaches were very rocky and had sea urchins so please bring foot protection. The water was simply wonderful and very calm. I wish I could sleep there!

Loved every second. The beach isn't as good as on the other islands, but the deer are amazing. Bring them a healthy snack and be careful to not let them dig through your bags! They will eat anything, from paper wraps to plastic. Best come in the morning.

A beautiful little island near Korčula. There are taxi boats that are not expensive (about 10 euros). In the summer, there is a cafe-restaurant, and in the season it is also possible to rent deckchairs and use the showers, so that you can spend the whole day relaxing among the deer on the magical beaches. The entire island is covered with pine forest and a series of beautiful beaches along the circular promenade.

Wonderful small island to spend a day swimming in crystal clear emerald sea. It takes you about 45 min to walk around the whole island. There are friendly deers and pines that hide you from the sun. A view at the monastery is just amazing. Hike on top of the island where ruins of small church can be found and you can see all the surrounding small island. It's just spectacular.

My boyfriend and I kayaked to this island. We probably spent around an hour here walking around and watching the deer which was amazing. There is an old monastery which was quite cool to see. There wasn't any cafes or anything but I think that added to the whole experience of the island.
I heard about a girl getting hurt by one of the deer because she scared it when she was feeding it, follow the signs and don't feed them would be my tip!
