We visited the dam in late afternoon. The weather was sunny but it was quite blustery on top of the dam. It certainly was worth enduring the wind for the views from the top. It is quite a steep climb to the top of the dam

we were really surprised by this place. the area is really beautiful: you are next to the national park and within the complex, you have several breathtaking viewpoints. in addition, the way the hydroelectric complex works and is organized is very well documented along the trip.

Although it is a bit steep to charge you an entry fee as if this were part of Los Alerces National Park, you only have to pay in the high summer months and you can go free to the park if you go the next day. You definitely need a car to really enjoy this place, but if you come... More

Even when you can think that this is an hydro-electric complex it offers a lot of beautiful views of the surrounding nature. The road to the complex has great landmarks and once within the National Park, don't miss 'Cascada de los Tambores'. It's just a 10' easy walk into a lovely cascade.
