The first part of the walk is very nice with a large number of canal locks. Then the footpath takes you close to the boats. The footpath is a little bit muddy in rainy days. It would be nice to see this area a little...More

We had intended to walk up on one side of the locks and back on the other side. We soon discovered that this isn't possible but still enjoyed wandering up and down admiring these relatively simple engineering solutions to the significant problem of enabling boats...More

21 different locks. Interesting if you are interested in canal boats or you want somewhere to while away your time. Somewhere to have a cuppa but had no time to sample it.

This is a great little place and right next to the canal,. On a nice day you can sit outside and take in the surroundings, which are excellent. The service could have been better but there was quite a few people there.

The Hatton Locks are a truly a wonder! To think this is engineering created 250+ years to take water up hill and it can't be beat by all of today's technology and a credit to the times. Simply a must, you won't regret it!

Heading further north we dropped in here to stretch our legs and replenish our bellies. Very good choice it was too, peaceful location with plenty of activity to watch. Smashing little café run by friendly staff serving up great food.

21 locks is hard work, but you do feel quite exhilarated (if tired) by the end. Try and join up with another boat to share the workload

A stunning place to walk your dogs beside the canal watching the boats go by. Hatton Canal Cafe is superb! Selling delicious breakfasts and light meals throughout the day. A real must to visit!
