I was uncertain of dog sledding questioning whether this was kind to animals. Stefan took lots of time to explain why the dogs stay on chains, what they are fed, how much love they receive like their own children and how his own children have been raised with these beautiful dogs. The enthusiasm that the dogs feel when it is their turn to be hitched to a sled, shows how much these dogs love their job. Stefan and everyone involved are lovely people that show respect for the animals that give their life for expedition wolf. So very happy to have experienced dog sledding with this fantastic family owned business and knowing that they will rescue dogs and keep retired dogs just to be able to show them love until the end is awesome..

We just did this excursion and we all thought it was phenomenal! We all had concerns of the welfare/treatment of the dogs before we arrived but we were all pleasantly surprised how well the dogs were treated and cared for. The dogs were all so excited to be chosen for our sleds and we got to help load the dogs onto the sleds and then unload them afterwards. The staff were all professional and friendly and we all thought this excursion was the highlight of our trip to Mount Tremblant. Would highly recommend!!

If you’re anywhere near Mont-Tremblant in the winter (best skiing in the East), take a morning to experience the thrill of dogsledding. The excitement starts with selecting the teams from the multitude of barking and howling dogs. Each one wants to be picked for the run and each one wants to be first. As they’re harnessed to the sleighs, they get more and more excited - and it’s contagious. Your heart beats faster. You can’t wait to get going! I was given a solo sled with four dogs (on my first time) and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. So I thought. But when the guides released the sled and the dogs bounded ahead with the sled in tow it was exhilarating! Off down the forest trails you fly, standing on the rear runners, leaning from side to side to steer, with the wind in your face, running beside the sled uphills and breaking on the downhills. The guides on adjacent sleds watch carefully and give pointers where necessary - but the skill comes quickly. Expédition Wolf is well run and they treat their dogs well. The guides know each dog by name (and their history and temperament) and they treat them like colleagues. This is a beautiful experience on every level, whether you want to mush or just ride on the sled. Don’t miss these beautiful dogs doing what they love to do.

One of the best tours we did in Quebec. Attentive staff, well-maintained and respected dogs, sensational trail ... worth every penny!
Activity in the open sky, lots of snow and cold, so bring snow pants, snow boots and a very warm jacket. At the end of the tour, they serve soup and hot chocolate to keep you warm.
I strongly recommend!!

Booked for Dog Sleighing via the activity center at Mont Tremblant- an awesome experience from the word go! Mat was an excellent guide and became a friend- he took us seamlessly through the whole experience. Thoroughly enjoyed. Well done Mat and team. Look forward to seeing you guys again sometime soon.

I booked directly with Expedition Wolf and they had availability where the activity center didn’t. It was me and my 5 year old. We got to escort the dogs to the sled, feed them, and pet them. The guides did all of the hard work guiding the sled while we enjoyed this unforgettable experience. They really care for their dogs and take in rescues too. They are amazing people and beautiful, friendly dogs.

By far the best day we had was Dog Sledding in the forest. This was with Expedition Wolf, booked via the Activity Centre, near the top of the Cabriolet (look for the snowmobile, sled and dune buggy outside and, sometimes, a man with a husky!)
It was expensive, though included transport there and back, but is a MUST DO!
A minibus collects you (our driver/guide throughout was Olivier, who was great) and it's about 30 mins to their site. After registration, you are taken across the road to the dog area, which is huge - with over 200 huskies!
You then help to harness "your" huskies - 6 to each sled. One of you then lies in a sleeping bag while the other - after instruction - actually drives the sled, in a convoy. The route takes you through a beautiful forest and it was actually snowing when we went.
About half-way, you stop at a log cabin for hot and cold drinks and biscuits - and you can swap roles if so inclined. (My wife the drove the 2nd half, which is a bit less arduous - with slightly fewer steep hills and turns.)
(One does need a moderate degree of fitness as, on the uphill stretches, you have to stop driving and walk/run alongside the sled. And hard braking is sometimes needed on the downhill stretches, to avoid running into the dogs... But for us, as moderately fit 50-somethings, it was no problem at all.)
The countryside is beautiful and, apart from the sled in front of you, you see nothing but trees and snow - amazing! ("Such fun!!" as Miranda would say...)
On getting back to base, you help un-harness the dogs (who do not seem remotely tired - in fact want to go again!).
Then - the best bit? - you visit the husky puppies (subject to season) - who are unbelievably cute and cuddly, though very large and heavy, even at 3 mths old!
After tearing yourself away from the puppies - and the other 200+ huskies (of all types - some even crossed with wolves) - it's a short walk back to the main log building. There you will be offered hot and cold food (inc. soup) and drinks, which you can enjoy in front of a huge circular log fire, in the middle of the building.
ALL the staff - including the larger-than-life owner (Mr Lambert) - are extremely friendly and care deeply about the welfare of their animals - many of whom are rescue dogs.
You will then be given the chance to buy a CD of pictures of some of the dogs AND of YOU at the start of the "expedition", the sleds. It is 25CAD (with NO tax on top, unlike everywhere else in the resort...) and well worth it. (You can see your pics on a monitor, before deciding.)
Then a short drive - again, through lovely countryside - back to Mont Tremblant village centre.
DO THIS "EXPEDITION" - you will not regret it!
(Apparently there are other, similar, trips - but this is said to be the best.)

I can highly recommend a dog sledding trip with Expedition Wolf. We did it in a group of 10 persons and always 2 of us shared a dog sled. We first helped to get the dogs ready, then we got a short introduction and finally we went for the dog sledding ride for approx. 1 hour. The sledding is easy to learn and it is just wonderful to steer such a sled through the track which had been prepared over a distance of approx. 10 km going up and down through the forest. It's a really great experience and the guides are very nice and professional!

Our guide was great. My husband was nursing a leg injury so they suggested we go with a guide since he wouldn't be able to push and steer well. We didn't get the full experience of being in control of the sled b/c the guide did everything. But the trade off was that we were able to enjoy things more. The guide also answered my many questions and allowed me to help slow the sled when necessary. These dogs are raised to PULL and that's all the do. We helped load and unload the dogs for the sleds. You have to pay close attention during this time and follow directions. But it's fun to be a part of that process. You stop halfway and have snacks and hot chocolate in a small cabin. They let you drive and ride if you like. Once back at the main office, you get warm soup. It's a complete package!

What a great experience ...
First you help prepare the dogs ..
Then you go for a run in the forest .. you can either sit in the sled or drive.

My guide was Michel and he was wonderful.

Afterwards they provide yummy snacks.

Expedition Wolf even picks you up at your hotel.
