Nice visitors center. But next to it is the main reason I think people stop. There is an enormous bright light green truck next to the visitors center. It is billed as "the world's largest tandem axle truck." It makes a great tourist trap photo op.
All around the immediate area are shops and food venues.

Visited some family in Sparwood for the weekend.
It’s a very small town so don’t expect much. But the people are friendly and you can stop by and see the worlds largest dump truck (at the time) at the visitor centre. It’s a small mining town.

Interesting to read the information of the local mining and history. Well worth a visit if you're travelling the Crowsnest Hwy.

Very friendly staff, a little shopping and washrooms. What's more is that it is next to the truck. It is easy off, easy on the highway. A great stop for info.

I stopped with the kids at this info centre just off the highway in Sparwood. There was a very interesting and informative display about the coal miners who had been killed. It was a touching dedication that I never knew existed. Along with this giant green truck, this information centre was a pleasure to walk through. There is grass and some picnic tables to enjoy some lunch there, as well as plenty of parking. I would recommend people to stop by and check it out.

We had booked a reservation for the Teck Mine Tour and you received your tickets here at the Visitors Center. Helpful, friendly staff, great photo op for the Worlds Largest Mining Truck! picnic area, museum next door and lots of historical information available. the Mine Tour was interesting with narrative on the bus, but disappointed that we could not take any photos! The bus driver needed to slow down a little on the drive up and down the mountain for us 'flat landers'! It was a great day activity and fun to learn about the area and how mining is BIG business for this entire area! Enjoy!

To really find out where the town of Sparwood really came from. To find out the true meaning of the coal mining in the area and the hardships and sacrifice it took. Well worth the visit. Entry by donation. The volunteer was helpful, friendly and quite knowledgeable of the community. Also go and look at the world's largest dump truck.

Not your ordinary gift shop. Good quality items at fair prices.
Washrooms in building.
Staff were friendly and had helpful ideas for little kids.
Maybe too much candy in easy reach of little hands.

We visited here on our way to Fernie.
Picked up some leaflets about the area and a couple of souvenirs of the largest truck that is parked outside the information centre.
There were clean washrooms here as well as a water dispenser to fill our water bottles.
Friendly helpful staff member.
Good choice of things to purchase to remember your visit to the area.

We arrived on a snowy day. It was great to enjoy the hospitality and take a break from the white knuckle drive over Crow's Nest Pass.
The staff offered restaurant suggestions and helpful road condition information.
Oh, and we love the big truck!
