We completed the Welch-Dickey Loop trail this past August, and I have to say that the views are well worth the effort it takes to complete the loop. We followed the trail in a counter-clockwise loop, as others have suggested. The first peak is Welch...More

Planned this as a morning trail "run" (we like to trail run) based on 'moderate' labeling. Made it most of the way up, walked the final bare rock sections. Exposed "treeline" views pre-summit make the steep spots worth it and provide some much-needed motivation. Summit...More

This is definitely one of my favorite hikes I've ever done. It isn't too challenging but the views are SO amazing. It's a long loop which I always prefer to "there-and-backs" and you get a stunning new view so many times during this hike. There's...More

This loop gets overshadowed by some of its taller and more famous neighbors in the Whites, but after finally giving this one a shot, my wife and I now count it among our favorites! It’s a steep ascent, and much of the mountain is rock....More

This hike is labeled "moderate", but was a bit more challenging than I expected! Climbing up the rocks can be steep at times, but it's fine if you take your time. I would probably avoid this trail if it's rained recently, as I imagine the...More

This was amazing! It was more challenging than expected but worth it. The views are absolutely stunning. There are some ledges and a lot of scrambling. I highly recommend this hike.

A wonderful hike with a little of everything - stunning views. We were lucky to have a magnificent fall day with lots of color. There are some ledges, some easy scrambling and lots of beautiful forest; good hiking boots are recommended and could be low...More

A favorite for many who have visited this wonderful loop which ascends about 1800 feet to the summits of Welch and Dickey. These mountains which are low by NH standards stand above their higher forested neighbors because an intense forest fire many years ago consumed...More

It's been a while since I did this hike and I forgot how fun it is. This will be a challenge for beginners for sure and it's a great test mountain to see if your ready to start on some of the smaller 4000 footers....More

We took our 3 year old dog on this hike. It was not strenuous for him, but, when we got to the second peak, I wish I had put him on a leash because there are large boulders and crevices off trail that he explored and we got... More
