We (two foreigners fluent in Chinese) travelled to WuZhi Mountain and after much discussion were told that non-Chinese residents required a permit to visit the mountain; ticket staff were happy to sell us tickets, but could not guarantee us entry(!) Same comments as below apply. Very disappointed!

Already slightly warned by previous comments, a local guide got contacted on the island, he said that it wouldn't be a problem for foreigners to visit the mountain. Unfortunately the contrary was the truth. the park is closed to all foreigners, including for people from HK and Macau. I attached the picture with the sign stating this. As an alternative... More

My Chinese girlfriend booked the Wuzhishan Yatai Resort, and after a 5-hour drive from Haikou over terrible roads we arrived at the gate. The guard looked at my white face and told us to go away. After a terrible fuss and a 2-hour wait at the gate, they allowed us in, but told us that I had to be accompanied... More

I first visited Wuzhi Mountain in 1992. It was then a newly developed tourist attraction with hotels and restaurants styled in typical Chinese architecture, lakes filled with lotus flowers, red wooden bridges used as walk ways and beautiful landscapes. However, I revisited Wuzhi Mountain this September and am totally disappointed. All along the route up the mountain one will find... More

The hainan gouvernment province had decided to forbid foreigner tourist in the park. It is open for chinese. There is a clear sign... More

Unlike the others we decided we were not fit enough to take the path to,the mountain top. Our excuse was it was cloudy. Anyway we chose the 1km walk along the river to the waterfall which was very pleasant but you need good footwear as there are a lot of steps up,and down. Our rickshaw driver then persuaded us to... If you go here expecting a standard Chinese mountain - orderly stairs that take you all the way to the top - you're in for a shock. This was a much more difficult hike/climb than most Chinese mountains, and one to do if you're in good shape and up for an adventure. The climb starts out easy enough, first with... More

We took a bus leaving Wuzhishan city out to Xuemen at 715am (not from the train station). It took about an hour. Then we took a little motorized bike out to the entrance of the mountain - 10rmb each. My friend and I did not eat breakfast and had few snacks with us - not recommended - eat something or... More

It is a high moutain, forms like a 5 fingers which is the name of this place. We claim up the mountain in the morning was fine but when we came down, it was raining and that made our trip even more challenge!
