We were surprised how nice it was to see this work of nature and it's free! Not many people during the week day in December but I'm sure that it's crowded during the summer as there are some very nice beaches next to this cave.

Very beautiful to explore around this area - there is currently only one bus that goes here from Shimoda station, leaves at 10:30 ish and returns around 1430 ish, but you can walk to Kisame bus stop through the beautiful and quiet town of Touji for more buses that travel in between Shimoda and Minami/Matsuzaki on the main road.

Especially if you're a geology nerd or a fan of hiking around small towns. We walked there from our hotel (Tokyu hotel Shimoda) in the morning and were back before lunch. Passed by several nice beaches and really felt the cave was worth the walk. But then again we walk everywhere...

Truly one of the Mysterious place of mother nature. Ryugu Sea Cave has its own mystery from its location to the view from in side and above. It has very easy access as it is situated by the road. you just have to climb down the stairs. ( just two mins and not that steep or deep) Once you climbed... More
