Being the oldest university of Japan this is a true marvel of Japanese culture and heritage. Beautiful and tranquil.

Visiting this school is nice, because it is different from the typical shrines and temples that one normally visits in the area. The layout and history associated with the school is interesting and it is a very relaxing place to visit (Visited 2007)

This school is said to be the oldest school in Japan. All the buildings and garden in excellent shape and well maintained. Parking lot in the vicinity is free of charge too. Very recommendable on a sunny day.
