We visited Gokayama district and the family house of Murakami-san with a tour. We sat around a fire and listened through a translator to his description of the house which was common in the Edo period when the Kaga clan dominated. When we dropped by the Gokayama visitor center, it was recommended that we visited Murakami Residential Home. This is described as one of the oldest and most representative gassho houses, so why not! The place shows how people lived there. The folk song and the Gokiriko, their musical instrument, add the history and sincerity.
