We opted for the hot stone package which included 2 hours of hot stone full body and scalp massages. It also included a half hour meditation on the hot volcanic stone. We also added on a one hour full body buff and glow package because “why not?” 🤣. Everything from the moment we walked in felt personalized and we had the total attention of our masseuses. In between treatments there was water, hot tea and a little indulgent sweet. After spending nearly 5 hours at Iwa, our bodies and minds were incredibly relaxed. I’ve had treatments elsewhere and they’ve never been this top notch. I was sad to leave!

We were a group of eight with widely varying skills at yoga (my buddy and I were essentially talked into this by our wives - neither of us having done yoga before) and we had booked a private yoga session in the room where you lay on heated volcanic rock. Not only was it incredibly relaxing - we also managed to do some yoga and stretching in a room dark enough that you felt like you were in your own private space. It was a really great experience. And the yoga pros seemed to love it as well. Kind of cool when you can do a group event like that and everyone leaves in a great mood. Well done IWA!

I was so looking forward to my massage this week, but this being my first massage as we adjust to COVID, I was wondering how Iwa would adjust their routine to ensure client safety. I was impressed with the new process, from the prescreening, to designated wait areas and managed flow through the facilities I was very confident in my personal safety. The best thing is they have implemented these new protocols while maintaining the welcoming, restorative vibe that I have always loved at Iwa. Yippee!!

I visited Iwa spa with friends for a massage. Given Coronavirus this was our first visit to a spa in months, and I must admit we were slightly anxious before arriving.
The team at Iwa did an amazing job of making us feel comfortable and safe. Everything from a separate spa entrance to a protocol for continuous cleaning and social distancing gave us total comfort.
What a slice of heaven on earth! The therapist was excellent and overall it felt like “normal” spa experience. Amazing given these times.
I can understand why this spa has won so many awards.
What a great treat. We will be back soon.

Our anniversary treat to each other was a "Couples RMT Massage" provided by Jo and Justin. We felt so relaxed afterwards that we promised to do it again soon. Soothing hands and music plus the 1/2 hour Ganban Volcanic Rock Therapy Sauna session completed our day.

Service staff may be great, but management and front-desk staff treat you like a number. As long as they make their revenue, your experience is irrelevant. See other reviews on their poor booking experience.

I am one of the friends who shared the “worst pedicure ever” experience at Iwa Spa, Blue Mountain recently. We had 24 hrs away with friends and loved the Mosaic where we had tons of space to spread out and enjoy each others company. The Scandinavian Spa was also very relaxing and quiet and beautiful. We went for a delicious dinner at Tholos which was worth every penny we spent. Finally our breakfast at The Pottery was also fantastic. Lots to choose from and still very fresh when we strolled in at 11am! However, I have to agree with my friend who posted about our pedicure experience at Iwa Spa. This service was way way overpriced for what it was. We were in relaxation mode and would gladly have paid almost $100 (including tax and tip) for this experience had it lived up to expectations. I have to agree that the flat back booth type seating with a few throw pillows was uncomfortable at best and high enough that it made the seating precarious to get to. Even a $35 pedicure in your local stripmall includes your own comfy and relaxing personal massage chair. At Iwa Spa, the massage chairs appear to be reserved for the pre-massage clients in full view from the pedicure bench. As for the cleanliness, I also work in the healthcare field and according to the “Infection Prevention and Control Unit Public Health Division Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care January 2009” the pedicure basins (considered non-critical items that come in contact but do not penetrate the skin) should have been sanitized for a minimum of 10 minutes using a bleach solution. I have no idea what type of sanitizing solution was used but from one client to the next, this timing was not what I observed. My reason for finally weighing in on this review is to bring attention to how this situation has been handled after the fact. The response presented here by Jenevieve D, Manager at Iwa Spa regarding the resolutions provided is misleading and untrue. She states that we were provided with 2 gift cards and a full refund of the service. Three of us took part in the pedicure experience. Who should receive the gift cards? The clients who complained the loudest? From the beginning my friend insisted on a full refund and to date we HAVE NOT been offered or provided with a full refund. Therefore, I am baffled as to why Jenevieve D. Manager at Iwa Spa would make such a statement in her response that we were provided with a full refund of the service when this is not true?? I won’t be going back.

Went to Blue Mountain just this past week with a couple of other families. We originally wanted to try the Scandinave Spa but they were fully booked so my friends and I searched online and saw good reviews about Iwa. We were particularly interested in trying their Ganban suite, which is a rock sauna + RMT massages. I called to make the bookings for a group of 5. I called on Monday, wanting to book the appointments for Friday. My request was to have all female therapists if possible. The receptionist on the other end said they don't have availability for 5 people at the same time, but we can divide up our group into 3 and 2. Which we were fine with, and I asked if one group can do the massages first, then head to the ganban and the other group with swap (ganban first, then massages). I was assured that arrangement would be good. The other thing they mentioned was that if we want female therapists, they only have 1 female RMT available for the first time slot and the another for the second time slot. Ok, so at least two of my friends will get female RMTs. Cool with that. Called again on Wednesday to cancel one of my friend's appointments since she couldn't make it. Staff on other hand was accommodating and reset the appointments. Day of our visit, my friends and I were told that they only had us booked for the RMT massages, not for Ganban. Said I booked it over phone and they said the system only says RMT. Fine. I asked if we can add them now but they say only one group can do it, since the Ganban room had a scheduled yoga class happening at the later time slot. So we just decide to go with RMTs. Disappointed, but can live without it. After our relaxing massages, we found out that none of us had female RMTs, which was not what we previously arranged. I talked to the front desk staff to address the issue. They continuously referred to their computer and said on the system it says there was no preference for RMTs. I said it was arranged over the phone and they just repeated that they are only following what the system says, which indicates no preference. But is it not a PERSON that puts in the information??? I fail to understand how that explains everything and makes it OK. Again, I mentioned when I called to rearrange the appointment times, I did not think to ask to confirm the ganban add ons or the female therapists. One of the girls then said,"Well, it doesn't hurt to ask." I cannot believe the rudeness and how they are now trying to shift all the blame to us. As a customer, it never crossed my mind that I would have to confirm all those extra details, especially if THEIR job is to get it right in the first place! No sincere apology was given and I left the spa fuming. All my girlfriends have nothing but good things to say about the massages, but the experience with the front desk left a sour taste in our mouths. There are plenty of spas around the area that I don't think I would ever try Iwa again based on this experience. If you happen to want to try Iwa yourself, I would suggest double and triple checking with every little detail, cause it "certainly wouldn't hurt to ask".

I have gone twice to this spa - once in the spring and in early December having different treatments. Unlike some spas which are pretentious, even snotty, this is a welcoming oasis of vibrant, young and enthusiastic staff providing a range of spa services. Located in Blue Mountain Village near Collingwood it is known also for its top yoga classes - various types. Unique to this spa is their gan-ban or Japanese rock beds which you can lie down and feel the heat underneath to soothe and relax the body. Had a facial, body massage, and on a previous visit took part in a hot yoga class. Good for beginners and more experienced. Recently obtained a liquor licence so can have a drink afterwards. Not a big spa but lounge area looks out to the Blue Mountains ski hills. Great attitude amongst staff. A welcome retreat from the city.

I went here with a girl friend. When we got there, there were many people at the front desk but after getting changed, the person who told us to meet was nowhere to be found. A couple of people at the cash/front desk didn’t even acknowledge that we were there. My friend has to get another person and Sal came to help us with our ganban-yoku. It was the best——and so was he! In fact, Sal helped us throughout the afternoon and he was very service-oriented and made our experience so much better.

Ganban-yoku was extremely relaxing and I felt very rested and warm after. I would LOVE to go back there for that again. Facial was ok, but my friend said it was her best facial ever. Maybe it depends on who you get. The treatment is done in a room for 3 people, so a stranger was with us. Didn’t matter that much since it’s quiet but I felt funny in the beginning.

We had a drink after the treatment since we chose the package. It was good!

I’ll go back here again but probably just for ganban-yoku. Thanks to Sal, our experience didn’t leave the sour taste.
