About
All that glitters is gold at the Anne Murray Centre. The Centre is a tribute to the legendary singer’s amazing career. Rows of gold and platinum albums, and glittering trophies of all shapes and sizes fill every inch of the room. It’s breathtaking even to those who’ve been in the room before, but for those who haven’t, it’s like walking into a fantasy – a spectacular visual you’ll remember long after you’ve left the Centre!

I dropped my mom off here while the kids and I went to tour the Mine (as they are Very close together) and this is what she had to say:

Lots to see and info to read from her birth until now and pics with other people like Randy and Kenny. Very interesting. Anyone who likes Anne Murray will love it!

I absolutely loved this museum but must say that I'm a huge fan. If you don't love Anne you may not find it as wonderful as I did.

My mom, dad and I visited the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, NS in September 2012. This was one of my parents' must sees while travelling through Nova Scotia as they were both fans. They are in their seventies and I'm in my forties so I must admit that this was not on my must see attractions while travelling through the maritimes. Well, I am certainly glad that we made the stop. This museum showcases an amazing collection of items on Anne's personal as well as professional life. Her contributions to Canada is impressive and it was great seeing all of her gold records; grammy awards and juno awards. Her music played while we walked through her exhibit and it brought back some great memories of hearing her records and CDs playing in my childhood. The museum is very inexpensive ($6 for adults and $5 for seniors). If you are travelling through NS, I would highly recommend this pit stop as it takes about 1 hour of your time. Enjoy!

This is an amazing representation of Anne's life! They have everything from childhood possessions to photos throughout her life to trophies, medals, awards, gold albums to recent things like her white outfit she wore for the Vancounver Olympics. Good gift shop attached. Lots of hooked rugs for sale as well.

It's off the road a few kilometers, but this small museum does an excellent job of showcasing Anne Murray's life and career. My wife is an avid fan and I'm just kind of so-so. But she wanted to stop in and I agreed. She spent two hours going through the very well done exhibits (with items and videos) - I was a bit quicker. The very friendly and helpful staff mentioned that Anne Murray herself would be there that afternoon to kick off the 23rd season (Anne has a summer home in Pugwash - about 45 km away). As we were getting hungry, we found the Lamp Cabin Pub just outside of town (great spot for a meal, eh?) and had lunch. I suggested that we might just stay and see if Anne showed up, my wife's face lit up - and we went back. My wife used a new feature - a recording studio where you can sing along with Anne and have it recorded on a souvenir CD. Hokey, but fun. And then Anne Murray showed up and she was just so very gracious, kind and just what you would expect. I can't promise this to every visitor, but the museum is very nice, low cost and if you're a boomer, right up your alley.

Although not huge Anne Murray fans we decided to visit the museum as we were in the area and were very impressed. Many of these 'hometown' museums are disappointing as they often consist of a lot of memorabilia just stuck together, a bit tacky. This centre was a pleasant surprise as it was so well done. The information is well presented and there is a lot to see. The gift shop was also excellent and the staff very friendly. One thing that stood out is how highly the locals think of Anne Murray. She is not one of those people who make it big and forget where they are from. In fact she has done a lot for her town and it is obviously appreciated. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

the museum is set up in order from Anne Murrays' birth to present day. Life events, awards, letters from other stars, If you sang along with most of her hits, as I did growing up, you will enjoy this tribute to her. the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Brought back good memories of concerts and TV shows where we saw Anne perform. Nice small gift shop.

Popped in here because I had a bit of time to kill.... what a wonderful surprise. A bite-sized museum you can get through in less an hour, maybe a little more if you take it slow. Lovely detailed presentation of memorabilia etc (who kept all this stuff?) and a great tribute. Beware! I couldnt get Anne songs out of my head for hours after. It's a small space, I can picture it being less pleasant when the tour buses pull in... Do yuorself a favor and go for a doneir next door at the pizza/ doneir shop - the best.

My wife is a fan because of Anne Murray because of her mother...however I had never even heard of Anne Murray since I am into the 80's hair/guitar type of music.

Regardless, while I got very little out of this place...my wife really enjoyed it and it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be for me. :)

I don't have much else to add other than what has been said already by the Anne Murray experts, but if you are someone like me who has 0 interest in it...know that it is a good "museum" and you might be pleasantly surprised. :)

I visited the Anne Murray Center with my mom and husband on Sept 19, 2012. We all enjoyed our visit. Everyone was humming and singing along as we moved through the well layed out exibits. The tour ends in a very good gift shop.
