I went this January to the Ebisu Matsuri and had a great time. We went on the last day, so it wasn't overcrowded. We could try many different traditional foods...most people gave us a sample and tried to say a few words in English (it was funny and heartwarming at the same time). I'm planning to go again next year.

Nishinomiya shrine is famous for its annual Ebisu festival in January. For the first time, I went there for this festival. To my surprise, the street from Hanshin Nishinomiya station to the shrine was completely congested with the mass of humans. If it doesn't matter you, you can go and take a look.

I really enjoyed visiting this shrine. There are multiple buildings and statues, a nice garden, koi pond and cafe. If you are in the area its worth a visit. I went on a Monday afternoon and it was not busy at all. It was a bit hard for me to find the entrance - I could tell where the shrine... More
