When we arrived at Hankyu Takarazuka Station, we can hear the well-known melody of Sumire-no-Hanasakukoro(Wenn der weisse Flieder wieder bluht/ Quand refleuriront lillas blancs),which is the favorite song of the Takarazuka Revue Company. About ten minutes walk from the station on the lovely footpath (Hanano-Michi),we can find the Takarazuka Grand Theater easily. In the big building, there are the various... More

Some people just love Takarazuka Review. I would rather have a root canal. However, AFTER the show, outside the theatre, is the interesting spectacle. The Groupies -- Japanese style. In USA the fans would mob the stars and jostle each other to get to the Star. However, in Japan everything is ORGANIIZED -- Big Time -- even the Screaming Fans.... More

The dancing and choreography, the music and singing , the dazzling costumes and the well organised stage sets made for a memorable performance. Even those who are not fluent in Japanese will be able to enjoy and appreciate the performance and have a great morning or afternoon's entertainment!

I have been dreaming for over a decade to see the Takarazuka Revue, and was so lucky to see them perform an adaptation of one of my favourite manga/anime series 'Rurouni Kenshin'. The show was so much fun, costumes and set design was impeccable, and the songs were entertaining. During intermission or after the show, you can go to Quatre... More

We heard of this revue quite by chance. I researched it a little, especially the history of city. It is a bizarre story, which I urge you to delve into. Anyway, back to the revue. First of all, we found it quite difficult to buy tickets online, so we took a journey by train to Takarazuka in order to buy... More

I've been a long-time fan of the Takarazuka Revue, and was happy to finally visit the original theater in Takarazuka city. I was not disappointed! High production values and excellently trained actresses, singers and dancers guarantees that any Takarazuka show is a feast for the eyes. The theater is also a lot bigger than I thought, containing a mini-mall and... More

I saw Elisabeth and it blew me away. From what I saw, Takarazuka is delicious spectacle, but also this amazing space where women have a power that is denied them in a lot of other areas. The performers I saw were truly brilliant and the erotic undertones suffused the entire afternoon. From my impression (and I was only in Japan... More

. . . even if you are not a fan of the all-female dancing troupe that dress up like men, since it's only 30 minutes away by local train. This town is quite picturesque. It's looks like a modern shopping mall with glitzy condos located next to a flowing river, with mountains as a backdrop. The theatre complex for the... More
