The church itself was built in Meiji Era and is a small church. The fact that christianity has been hidden and kept secretly for more than 200 years must be respected. Imagine "Silence" filmed by Martin Scorsese!

Quiet fishing village church. Take a walk around the village to the water edge. View from across the water is picturesque.

We enjoyed visiting and praying in this church. The only thing which surprised me was that we had to take shoes off. In western countries, it is not usually the custom to do so. Otherwise, we really liked this church inside and outside.

A little bit out of the way, but so worth it. We enjoyed the quaint feeling of this small fishing village. The history of this unique church is intriguing and quite romantic.
