Obi was a pleasant surprise. It is worth while to buy a ticket which covers the castle and samurai houses. Although it was pouring rain and we couldn't spend too long in the grounds, it was a pleasant way to spend a few hours.

Obi was really lovely and a nice place to wander around and learn a bit of history and culture. Plan about 2 hours.

It might not be a place full of attractions, but this is a very calm and ambient old town which one can imagine what the Japanese towns might have been back in the Samurai era. Although it is a small town, you might want to talk time to walk around and feel the culture. Definitely a recommended place.

We felt we hadn’t allotted enough time to wander around and see all that the town has to offer. Obi is a relatively small town with an historical district including many old samurai houses and the... We went back again since we ran out of time the first day. I wouldn't recommend buying the all in one ticket since there is so much to see you are unlikely to use it. We didn't. The castle was pleasant and interesting, wandering around the old areas and the gardens. You can chill out, talking of which some Japanese... More

It's not your typical castle if that's what you're looking for. It's pretty much what's left of the castle with some old samurai houses. I loved walking through the house though and getting an image of old Japan. The area is really historical and you will love it if you like old houses. Outside the gate in the entrance area,... More
