I and my wife really like "Hotate wasabi", which is a kind of seafood. That is rarely seen in another place.

The Rest Station has a breathtaking view of the Japan Sea and sometimes we can see Dolphins as well. There are two wind mills to add to the ambiance. The Beach is filled with small pebbles, which is why they call it Kirara Beach, as it shines in the sunlight. Nice clear water as it is fed by the Gonogawa... More

There are nice bakery and you can eat there also. Since fig is specialty fruit there, I had fig and walnut bread, which was hot & fresh from the oven and so delicous!!! If you are lucky, dolphin may be seen from this place. In summer, you can swim the beach and take shower there.

The spot is convenience for short time rest while driving. And, there is seaside resort and cottage.
