Its a place to start hikes from, but actually spending time there...no. Don't get its why so many busses stop here.

We were only here for a short time as part of an island tour. This wax myrtle and tree heather forest is unique to La Gomera, and is truly luxurious. There is a nice trail which is both well signposted and informative.

We visited while at the National Park of Garonjay. It is the largest municipality of the island. It covers the north and south of the island and is, therefore, the territory that offers the most varied landscape of La Gomera.

I didn't do my research before visiting and I must say I was expecting a big lagoon. It appears though that the lagoon appears when it rains heavily and the ground becomes waterlogged. Whilst I may be missing something here I can only think this...More

This is a visitor centre for the park - right in the very centre. Wonderful - reflects the whole island - tranquil and beautiful. Food was good and not over priced - when I ordered roasted chicken I did not expect to get a whole...More

I was looking forward to seeing the laurisilva forest as I had seen pictures and paintings of it in San Sebastian. But so much of the forest was destroyed by fire in 2012. We walked with a group to La Laguna Grande from Garajonay via...More

We stumble across La Laguna Grande by accident, however we had expected there to be water until we read the fact sheets. We found it to be very interesting and nicely laid out for children

We only stopped for a short time en route from Playa de Santiago on a day trip around the island but it was worthwhile. Seeing the rainforest up close with explanatory plaques was very informative. The visitor centre also helped with its multilingual displays of...More

Most of the time you cannot expect a great view as it is cloudy but the walk is great anyway. Unfortunately you will see what the great fire has left in 2012.
