I took the ferry out to Rosendal to look around. The people here were very nice and helpful with directions. The building also had some interesting displays and a very clean restroom.

Good place to start as it provides an overview of the Westlands and its historic development. Definitely a place for boat building enthusiasts. Remember to get a map with the list of stones at the stone park.

The museum offers a cinema showing rather poor short 2D movies, otherwise only an exhibition of pictures and words. Bad attempts have been made to make the exhibition exciting. Too bad. Could easily be made exciting for both kids and adults. Opening hours only weekdays...More

We find all Norwegian Museums to be of an exceptionally high standard. There is such National and Regional Pride. We started by viewing models and recreations of ship and boat building. The highlight, however, is interactive Climatology Displays. Very enlightening about the Gulf Stream both...More

Suzy gave me priceless tips for the Rosendal area as well as Hardangerfjorden area, including a drive up to Folgefonna from Jondal. She was so lovely, listened and therefore understood exactly what I was looking for. I didn't enter the exhibition.

Part of the Folgefonna National Park Centre is The Steinparken – The Stone Park. It’s fabulous, set among superb trees and wild plants with a river running at the side and another smaller creek with gentle waterfalls through the centre of the park. It’s free...More
