The south is lava flows - the centre is pine forests - this is a wonderful walk through primeval rain forests! Lots of choices of hikes but the easy one up to the Mirador across the valley is well worth it!

The area of Los Tilos has a number of trails though the moist Laurisilva forest. If you are coming from La Palma you will find some of the trails and parking lot before you get to the visitor center. The visitor center is worth visiting...More

Our guide book told us we couldn’t get to los Tilos by bus. Well you can. Take the bus from the Santa Cruz bus station to los sauces. It leaves at 15 minutes past the hour. Stay on the bus as it goes along a...More

This beautiful forest, which is easy to reach by car, offers you a wonderful break from the sun. Because of the height and all the lovely trees there is a lot of shade and (even in july) it is actually quite chilly (though the hiking...More

We only walked the first part of the trail, to marker number 7. Still a nice walk in the rain forest, we scents of the vegetation and bird spotting: plenty of finch and black birds.

A walk through a lush, green forest, you can easily imagine you have gone back in time million of years. Beautiful views. We took the shortest path to Mirador Espigon Atravesad (about 5 km). The paths were in a good condition, but it's a relatively...More

The waterfall walk is now closed and the waterfall does not work currently. This is seasonal and it will reopen, not sure when. I didn't know that before coming here, only knew that the Marcos channels path is closed. I definitely recommend to call the...More

Don't think there is public transport but there is a tourist information centre on site so you could try an email to find out. It is in the middle of nowhere.
