Friendly & Delicious

Just happened to stop while on a driving tour of Ireland. We were met with friendly service, caring and delicious lamb stew. Oh my gosh. What a pleasure!

We stumbled on this place, a bit lost and starving at ~11:00 pm. The bar tender was so nice to serve us (Guinness, Smithwicks, veggie soup and many toasted cheeses) and we enjoyed his friends company and humor after hours. A perfect simple western-country pub experience on the Emerald Isle. Unplanned but memorable and story worthy.

Lovely little pub, mine host has a great sense of humour. This is very cheap and much better value for a snack and drink than the nearby Burren Visitor Centre.

We were heading back from Doolin towards Galway and decided to stop by and get some food and a couple pints. We should have been tipped off that we should turn around considering the place was empty at 6:30 and the bearded bartender seemed annoyed. The prices weren't posted anywhere, but he offered up lamb stew and ham sandwiches as... More

We stumbled across Linnane's as we stumbled into Kilfenora. We were the only ones in the pub (it was REALLY early), so of course we got amazing treatment. The owner was so incredibly nice! He was EXACTLY the kind of person we'd hoped to stumble across! GREAT conversation and so much fun! Hopefully we can stumble in here again another... More

If you want great Guinness, a warm atmosphere, no music (except at night if the Ceili band drop by) and some interesting locals and conversation .. this is the place to go.

Once you enter this place, you realise all the focus is on the fresh food and not on the decor. I've sat in many fancy chairs at a number of expensive restaurants waiting hours to finish a meal but Linnane's ambiance is difficult to beat. I could see the fishing boats on the pier outside and the smiles on the... More

Saturday afternoon travelling in the Burren region, the weather was wet and windy and we needed somewhere warm to take a break and happened upon Linnane's pub in Filfenora and what a treat it was. A great big open fire, great guinness and a very friendly welcoming landlord who sat and chatted with us when things were quite. An absolutely... More

We visited Linnane's on our drive from Limerick to Doolin. It was cold, wet, Irish day and although it was 3 in the afternoon and we were the only customers, they whipped up some fabulous Lamb Stew. My wife and I enjoyed it with a pint by the fire. There's a famous trad band that plays here - can't recall... More
