- castlesintheairNorthumberland, United Kingdom200 contributionsPlease sort out the Ecoli problemNot much of a beach opposite Hotel Miramar just a narrow strip of hard dirty looking sand. We didn't use the beach sunbeds as we were able to use the Miramars private sundeck. We were very disappointed that the previous week red flags had been out everyday warning of water pollution due to high levels of ecoli. The flags were green during our week but it put me off going in the water. Hubby did have a little swim but got quite a few nasty cuts on his legs from the rocks. The beaches further along past the marina looked much nicer, nice soft yellow sand.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten September 29, 2023

For any age group this is a good resting place, lots of wonderful restaurant's. Walk along the sea front and sea a grand selection of boats. - Cheryl FGreater London, United Kingdom3 contributionsA fantastic place spoilt by the sea.Beautiful place and Hotel Hoposa in Puerto Pollenca is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff were fantastic; the food very good; the hotel was immaculately clean. An important part of our holiday is being on the beach and swimming in the sea. Having spent a day swimming in the sea was horrified to be told by a local woman about the sea water. Looking it up in the local press it says sometimes the the sea has 10 times the WHO recommended safe level of E.coli. I asked the life guard and was told the water is tested by scientists and it is not good. A few days later we returned ( Gatwick chaos ) and again went to beach. It was a yellow flag. I asked if the water was safe and the lady said according to the last test result it was a yellow flag but that result was from two days previous and they keep the flag from the last result antil they receive a call from their manager telling the latest test result. The latest test result was late! She said she couldn't say if the flag should be red yellow or green for that day. We did not go swimming in the sea again. There are no signs warning people and very young children are playing in it. The authorities are risking people's health; it has apparently been like it for a few years. I have been going to Puerto Pollenca for 30 years before COVID and this was the first time since. Would go swimming at least twice a day in the sea but not this time. We located by accident one of the places where the sewerage runs into the sea from drains on Pine walk when a small truck came and pumped the drains and then we were horrified to see them lower the suction pipe down into the sand on the beach and pump out the same fowl smelling liquid as from the drains and it was black. Really ? The authorities in charge should hang their heads in shame.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten October 9, 2023

We stayed at Hotel I’lla d’Or at the end of the Pine walk. There are RED flags along the walk as raw sewage is going into the sea. I spoke to the life guard and asked him why the Red flag , he said because of all the Pooh !!
This is outrageous, disgusting 🤢 and I definitely will not be returning which is sad because it is a lovely location.
The authorities need to take action NOW.

Port de Pollensa was our favourite place! This time will be our last time unfortunately.
We spent quite a lot of money for a pine walk apartment right next to the beautiful beach. But the majority of our stay all we can do is look at the sea. The beach has had red flags up for days due to severe pollution, sewage is being pumped into the sea!
Thousands of tourists spending thousands of pounds to come here, and nobody is allowed to enjoy the sea/beach.

Having spent a lot of time in Palma we were shocked that it was in the much quieter Puerto Pollensa that the zips on my husband's bag were undone!! Luckily nothing taken as he only had water in there! Lots of signs at the bus stops warning of pickpockets and other thefts

Danger. Don't go in the sea. The Red flags are on the town beach,Albercruix to warn of the polly, namely, E coli. The yellow flag is there as a warning to bath at your own risk.
I have seen mum's and dads allowing toddlers and babiy to crawl in the shallows thinking it's a warning regarding a undertow or current. but please keep the children out. This situation has been going on and off for months even years. I will never use that beach again!

A lovely sandy beach. We enjoyed the warm water and the views were fab. Considering we were there at top season, there were plenty sun loungers (paid service) and space available.

As per the title a lovely beach in a lovely area with stunning views. We visited in September 2022 and although it was still quite busy there was just a relaxing hum / vibe (NO loud music blasting from any of the bars or cafe's). There are also some excellent restaurants to visit. We will return!

Incredibly relaxing beach with crisp white sand and warm sea! Perfect place to chill all day and swim. Lots and lots of sun loungers and beach bars, and you can get to the beach from Palma easily on the bus.

Hi, we're thinking about puerto pollenca in June with our 3 year old twins. We'd like to be in walking distance of the town and beach. Can anyone recommend any mid range hotels please? Thank you

An excellent place to go . Several bars/eateries with music and there are also others in the streets to the rear of the paved promenade areas by the beach offering quiet and peaceful meals. However quite a lot of evening establishments close fairly early 9.30 10.00 pm . .
Nice natural park to look round by the river worth walking round-has seats!
Good beach with sand

We were at the Pine Walk end of the beach a couple of days ago and at least 3 people near us got stung by jelly fish. Does anyone know if they are still about or have moved on? Thanks!

Hi, not sure if other people have replied to this.
Apparently there are more jelly fish due to the currents. I got stung twice but I must say the one on my arm was quite bad and unfortunately has left my skin scarred!! Be careful!!!

Hi i'm coming with an 11 year old and an 8 year old.Are there hotels with pool tables or entertainment you can go into in the evening even though your not staying there? can you recommend anywhere to take the children in the evening?

I would recommend that you take your children to the town square every evening. They will meet plenty of other children their age who are locals and holidaymakers. Plenty of good restaurants and bars for mum and dad to have a drink also.
5 mts walk from the town square is Hotel Azul where there is entertainment put on for children every evening. I think it starts about 7.30 and is followed by adult/family entertainment. This is an excellent family hotel and there will be plenty of other children for your's to play with and make friends. Enjoy your holiday in the best resort in Majorca.

no not on the beach - but there are accommodation such as flora apartments very close to the beach that are more geared to children - google for further details on this
