It's a beautifully built church which has a single belfry in its front. Once entered the church is really a peaceful setting... Quiet and well lit. It hosts the beautiful painting of Our Lady in Assumption and also a beautiful decorated altar. Must see when in Randazzo

Randazzo has some lovely structures and this is one of them. The use of the lava rock is beautiful and has endured well over the years.

A pleasant surprise occurred when we tried the front door, found it locked, and walked away to read the signage nearby. The priest must have heard us, because he popped his head out of the door and opened it. We enjoyed seeing the church, which is very well kept.

In Piazza Santa Maria, he rises to the sky the basilica dedicated to Our Lady, an extraordinary model of religious architecture that is rooted far back in time, so as to be confused with the legend. The story goes, that the church of Santa Maria Randazzo, besides hiding untold treasures, was originally erected in the place where a shepherd boy... More

A glorious church and we were made most welcome and wonderfully welcomed - both the interior and exterior are a delight. Special time to visit is 15 August - parochial feast of the Assumption.

The impressive thing to see here is how the walls are set up, it is like a lot of blocks of different sizes and forms stacked. The architecture is not too different than the most of churches around, there is a new statue in front of it though.

Gorgeous facade, most of it is made with lava rock as are the roads nearby. The church was built between the 13th and 17th century, while the bell-tower dates back to the 19th century. The interior decorations are also beautiful including the altar as well as the mosaic windows. If you're in Randazzo it's worth a visit.
