This is not to be confused with the steps in Alesund. This is a hike about 2 hours away from Alesund. You'll want to go to Urke. We were in Volda so we drove to Saebo and then took a ferry over to Urke. This...More

There are reviews here from the stair climb in Alesund. Not sure what the deal is. But Mt. Saksa is in Urke, across the fjord from Saebo. It is about 4 to 6 hours roundtrip depending on how long you stay at the top. We...More

I separately walked and jogged up these stairs and they provide a good workout. The views keep on improving as you climb. Well-worth the free exercise!

From the town you can see the stairs...all 418 steps. You get to them by walking through this really nice park. It is steep if you are afraid of heights...but worth the hike up and it was very crowded. But you can take your time...More

We were told it was a must do and it was. Both of us are a little advanced in age and made it easily, but found the icy steps a little challenging. Would be brilliant in summer. Great view of the city and surrounds. Beware...More
