With hundreds of horses and Bonaire wood stove heated cabins the Flying U is a homey comfortable place to holiday. I was there for an organized camp and found the accommodations cozy and the food excellent. The staff make a point of welcoming you with true country genuine warmth. They will help you with anything and everything...just ask! Kelly will... More

There wasn't a lobby with people in blazers with brass name tags. There wasn't a valet or a baggage guy waiting for a tip. There weren't signs posted everywhere telling you what to do and when to do it. It was great! Days were coffee in the morning on the lodge porch, then heading to the barn for long rides... More

We just got home from the Flying U Ranch and already miss it. Right from our arrival we were made to feel at home and welcome. The riding is unbelievable. On our horses at 9 am and back at 4. Two days we didn't even see another person the whole day. With miles and miles of trails to ride it's easy... More

Had a great weekend, glamped in a motorhome with 3 small children. The staff here are awesome, they go all out to make you stay the best. Big thanks Steve for bringing Xena out for the children to ride. They thoroughly enjoyed it. It is nice to walk around and see all the horses roaming free. The scenery is fabulous.... More

We were truly impressed with the the Flying U Ranch! The food was excellent, staff super friendly and the ability to jump on a horse and head into the backcountry was amazing. If you are looking for a truly memorable family trip away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, this is an excellent choice. Besides the horseback... More

We have been going to the Flying U for 15 years, and were a little worried that there would be changes with the new owners. It was just as fabulous as ever. The new staff were amazing, the horses were just as great as ever, Dave called the square dances (which is so fun - even if you have never... More

Last year we did a once in a lifetime, 3-day backcountry horse ride in Jasper National Park (Canadian Rockies). The scenery was gorgeous but the riding was nose to tail, as the trail was steep. This year we stayed 3 nights at the Flying U. The two kids (age 11 & 13) insisted on a packed lunch each day, and... More

For at least a generation the Fremlin family has owned and run the "Flying U Ranch" on Green Lake. But, selling a family enterprise and institution is no easy thing. Now that a successful sale appears to have been consummated, I am posting a follow-up to my review of last year. All good things must change, since change is inevitable.... More

The truly great thing about this ranch is that you could set off on your horse and with your friends without guides or a huge group of riders going head to tail. You could ride for as long as you wanted and as fast or slow as you wanted. We were part of a group where some of our friends... More

We stayed with my family of niece, nephews (all mini teens), siblings and grandma for a few days but it was too short of a time. The riding was fantastic and the meals 5 star. The Saloon is right out of the era and also a movie theater for the kids with popcorn. The staff were all very professional and... More
