Well worth the drive down narrow country lanes to get there, even though our sat nav got rather confused. It was interesting to learn how the building was tenanted until the 1960s by those who farmed the land.

A marvelous example of a wealthy person's dwelling in the thirteenth century. It is in remarkably good condition, and is great to tour and imagine what life was like.

If you walk from Corbridge go via the bridle path and not the main road. We had never heard of this castle so we really enjoyed the walk and the visit. It had a very informative and enthusiastic guy at the reception.
