We went on a brilliant wildlife tour with SeaSkye in Carbost; our highlights were seeing eagles, seals, and whales! The skipper was great at pointing out all of the wildlife and had a lot of knowledge about them and the local area which he shared with us throughout. We never felt rushed and the boat was stopped at each point until we were ready to move on. They handled Covid well by taking 6 of us instead of 12 and so having empty rows between us (the boat was six rows of 2). Definitely need to wear a lot of layers as it gets very windy; recommend woolly hats and balaclavas!

We booked SeaSkyeTours because of the excellent reviews about them and because we were staying in Carbost during our visit to the island.

The boat arrived promptly. We were given our flotation devices to wear. Boat left as scheduled at 11am.

Scenery in Loch Harport was stunning. Within 15 minutes we were able to see a pair of sea eagles and their chick ( Binoculars supplied by guide.) Ample time for even novice bird watchers like us to appreciate the majesty of these magnificent creatures.

Visit to a sea cave, strange rock formations and seal colony followed. Plenty of time for viewing, asking questions and taking photographs.

Our guide was very friendly, interacted well with the guests, was knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions thrown at him. 10/10 for him.

He went out of his way to find a pod of dolphins (around 30-40 of them) for us. Wonderful to see them in their natural habitat. They were extremely playful, showing off and seemed genuinely interested in us.

On our way home the boat suddenly veered and slowed. What had happened? Nothing to worry about. We were treated to a close up view of a minkie whale.

Because of this this detour, the trip lasted over the two hour schedule. No complaints from anyone aboard about that.

The wonderful weather and flat calm water only enhanced our experience. We felt safe on the boat.

Would recommend this trip to anyone as long as they are up to being in a smallish boat travelling at high speed and sitting on a saddle type seat.

No faults at all with the trip. Enjoyed all of it. Time flew by.

Thank you.

Booked a 2 hour trip online and was not disappointed. We arrived at pontoon and were met by Matt who was to be our captian/guide for the trip. We set off in anticipation and were not disappointed with the trip. From the get go the trip was very well organised as well as making us feel very safe. The boat was a rib style which once it got going went pretty quick which was an added thrill from the trip. Matt our captain took a great deal of time in telling us about all manner of subjects related to the tour and also a lot which was very informative about the area and history of the Island of Skye. The 2 hours flew by and we were very fortunate to see a lot of the adevertised subjects. the trip was made by the sight of dolphins swimming around the rib while we gently drifted in the waters around Skye. i was not totally enthused at going on this trip with my wife but I was hooked by the time it ended would highly recommend using these guys for sea trips

We did a private tour for our family of 4 adults ( with 2 older teens). Our guide Jordan was really excellent - full of knowledge about the boat, the sea, the wildlife and the island, funny, kind and attentive to what we wanted to see & how we were feeling throughout the trip. We loved every minute of the tour - despite the cloudy overcast day we really enjoyed seeing the cliffs and the seashore and eagles, seals, puffins, cormorants and caves full of weird coloured jellyfish. We also loved just the experience of being on the rib on the open water, at times speeding along with the wind in our hair and other times cruising very gently along the shoreline. Thoroughly recommended.

Top tip - put on lots of warm layers, waterproof jacket, long trousers, good shoes and take gloves and a beanie hat and glasses & you will really be able to enjoy the trip

We're a family of 4 with two young girls ages 9 and 11, we joined the 9am 2 hour maidens trip last week, weather wasn't forecast good but it turned out to be amazing. Beautiful clear skies and the sea was like a pond. Within minutes we caught site of a pair of white tailed eagles perched in a tree together and then another a bit further out in the cliffs. After that we went over to the maidens, a nearby cave and then further out to see the seal colony where there were lots of sea birds and grey and common seals. Our skipper (sorry we didn't ask his name) was v friendly and knowledgeable about local wildlife and had a few entertaining stories too! He tried really hard to find us some dolphins and we spotted porpoise a few times, eventually on way back his efforts paid off (with a it if luck too) and we saw a small pod of dolphins, really close to boat, just wonderful! The scenery was beautiful throughout and even if we hasn't been lucky enough to see all the wildlife it would have been a fun adventure, the fast bit at the end certainly made us all laugh! Highly recommended for a memorable experience on beautiful Skye.

We went on the sea maidens trip on a rather cloudy morning.
During an exhilarating ride down the lock to the open sea we saw a baby eagle very well camouflaged on the rock face.
After a short while our guide spotted a pod of Dolphins in the distance and we sped over to them. They seemed so happy to see us and we spent some time in their company whilst they frolicked joyfully around us. It was an enchanting experience which we will never forget.
We also went into the entrances of a couple of sea caves where hundreds of cormorants were nesting. They made a strange haunting singing noise from way down in the cave. It was rather mesmerising.
Thankyou for a wonderful trip which was worth every penny

Although the weather did its best to put us off we had a great trip out to the three maidens. Matt took us out on the brilliant rib on a cold, but not wet day. We saw a pair of Golden Eagles and lots and lots of other seabirds. Matt’s knowledge of the area was outstanding and he knew how to pass that interesting knowledge on without it being his opinions. It is definitely worth the money as it’s a great way to see the coastline.
Just one thing to say, and maybe this isn’t the platform, but if you book on these trips then turn up! Don’t book on the night before and then not turn up. These people are trying to run a business and it isn’t fair that people say they will turn up and then just don’t bother and don’t even ring and let anyone know. Have consideration for the owners!

Absolute highlight of our holiday so far. Our boat went out (in rain and wind!) and within the first mile we’d been alongside a big pod of dolphins and had spotted sea eagles opposite Carbost. Paul, the skipper, was fantastic, taking us to bays, caves and inlets to see a seal colony, shags, cormorants, gannets and finally a golden eagle perched high on the cliffs. Paul even let our two little boys have a go at steering the RIB - creating memories for all of us but for them especially. Highly recommend!

We had a brilliant afternoon on the Seaskye Maiden Tour. Every measure was taken to make sure we felt comfortable and safe during these uncertain times. We had 2 very knowledgeable and friendly guides, and it was a fun way to explore Skye.

Was a decent boat ride and we did see dolphins which was amazing as they swam really close, so this gets a 4*. The views were amazing and they had a few binoculars that you could share between the group. The actual boat ride was great, we enjoyed the speed.

But the vibe wasn’t great, the website states we’d have 2 guides on board with us, we only had 1 guide who asked us to look out for things as he can’t drive the boat and keep watch. He was nice but was very quiet, we were just driving around waiting to see things. We did go quite far out which was good but unfortunately saw no whales. We saw a couple of eagles but in all honesty they just looked like pigeons or any other bird as they were sooo far away sitting at the top of the cliffs. You had to use binoculars to see them and you couldn’t even spot them if you tried to take a zoomed in picture. We did go to the seals, which were cute, but only stayed there for a couple of minutes or so and didn’t get very close. So I wouldn’t really call this a wildlife tour, just a fun boat ride (fun because we were a group of 6 who were chatting and laughing and enjoying ourselves). A nice experience.
