The entrance to the palace is imposing with its larger-than-life statues of Neptune and some other ancient gods and goddesses. The exhibitions inside are free to visit once a month (first Sunday maybe). It is full of pictures dating from the 16th century on. In fact, there are more pictures than someone who is not a great art-fan can digest.... More

What a gem! Only €4 entrance fee and includes a personal guide. This palace is well worth visiting if you're in the area - well worth our 40 min drive. Sassuolo has lots of lovely bars around a square.

Palazzo ducale in Sassuolo is definitely worth a visit! It is different from other palazzo's because of the very nice and original (!!) fresco's. 40 rooms, it takes about an hour to see them. And with it comes a very kind guide who listens and adapts his story to your own intrests. Thanks, we enjoyed it!

We were fortunate enough to visit the stunning palace recently during our recent visit to Bologna. The tour guide was fabulous and highlighted the theme of Frescoes in each room. Found this palace absolutely unforgettable and most definitely more than worth the small fee for the visit

Actually visited many cities between Modena and Milan (pavia, Parma, piacenza, etc) and this site has been the single most memorable place for me. Beautiful artistic themes, historical and great technique. The English speaking guide was highly knowledgeable of every room and their historical and artistic contexts. Would highly recommend.

I have been to “Palazzo Ducale” of Sassuolo, Italy for the first time last May. I was in a cultural tour with my uncle and after we visited the city of Modena we moved to Sassuolo, which is at 30 minutes drive from the first one. I was on Holiday, a reason why we decided to visit this little town... More
