Regina Margherita of Italy is famous in the whole world. Many people don’t realise this. Pizza Margherita is named after her; allegedly she didn’t like anchovies - these were dutifully removed from Pizza Napoletana when she lived with the Prince Consort in Naples and Pizza...More

Beautiful Savoy family summer castle, where Queen Margarita of Italy spent 15 years of holidays. The royal atmosphere remains hanging in the enthusiast story telling guide, the castle itself and the whole of the valley air. We love coming to this area for our ski...More

Seeing the shooting of a movie in these places can make your mind come back to daydreaming. What you see and what surrounds it can stimulate the imagination and tell stories of the regime but also of characters from the fantastic woods.

Very nice palace that tells the big love of MARGHERITA for Gressoney and the Monte Rosa. The tour is guided by very competent people. Sure deserve a visit if you are in Gressoney

From Donnas Italy we drove the beautiful windy road (SR44) up to Gressoney & took a tour of castle Savoia. The tour is only in Italian. The views are just breathtaking. The whole drive up there & back made for a perfect day.

This place is fine to visit if the weather doesn't permit you to enjoy the mountains by means of hiking or skiing.

A 20 minute walk from the centre of Gressonney St Jean, which is worth a visit (delightful coffee and light lunch at the Cafe Pinter), the Castel Savoia is an impressive grey-stone, many-turretted 19th century castle built as a summer residence for Queen Margaret of...More
