The Ice Palace is right at the very top of the Hintertux Glacier which itself is definately worth a visit. The Ice Palace however is a giant let down. Surprisingly this was recommended by other people who also went there. The lady on reception (which incidentally is a small unimpressive shack) charged us 47 Euros after convincing us that it... We have just returned from visiting this ice palace. It was very pretty inside but at no point on any of the literature regarding this place or when buying the tickets were we made aware of how physically challenging this visit would be. It started with a very steep descent walk in the snow to the entrance of the cave.... More

Visited the Ice Palace as part of a day skiing on the Hintertux Glacier. No need to pre-book, just turn up and take a tour (departs each hour from the top of the lift system). Natural corridors under the ice have been expanded to create a walk under the ice which is unforgettable. Reasonably priced too at 20€ for one... More

You get to go on a boat ride in the the middle of a glacier at the top of a mountain... what more can I say. The altitude can make the walk back to the glacier bus a bit breathless, but otherwise absolutely fascinating.

The Guide was excellent ! The tour is well organized and the visitors must come well prepared with well covered water resist boots as the floor could become wet with very cold water

Unless you are not good with tight or dark spaces, this ice cave is really cool to see. I have been twice now and every time I go I notice something different. The tour is guided by guides with many different languages to choose from. It is not too long and features amazing views.

Just 0,5 km of walk over metal ladders and passing stairs with steps full of icy water and besides a few very impressive icicles nothing to see. "Boattrip" just exciting for claustrophic people. Not worth the time nor money (21 Euros per adult) Sicherlich kein Palast! Es sind nur 0,5km zu gehen über Leitern und teils im Eiswasser stehenden Treppen,... More

It takes 3 long cable car rides to get to the highest point over 3000m where you can enjoy snow even in the middle of summer. The views are awesome. There is a very nice sun terrace at the second cable car stop. It is not cheap ( approx. 33 Euros to get to the top and 21 Euros to... More

We visited on August 22 2016 having decided a summertime trip up into the snow would be good fun. We hadn't really considered the ice caves until we got to Hintertux, so found ourselves buying some thick socks in one of the ski shops. The ticket to get to the top of the mountain is purchased at the bottom, but... More

This attraction is way too expensive for what is offered. You need to pay the entrance at the top of the mountain where the lady at he counter does everything in order to convince you to do this attraction.
