Lovely stream that has about 14 km of easy walking trail (but occasionally along the road).. full of waterfalls along the course. Very scenic!

The hiking path parallel to the stream, despite also being parallel with the car traffic, ended up being the highlight of the visit. As it was in the late afternoon, all the day tripper had left and the hike was peaceful. There were a handful...More

This is one of the popular place to view autumn foliage and you can judge from the number of visitors and cars passing through the narrow road. There are many streams and waterfalls along a few kilometers walk. Sadly we didn’t walk too long due...More

Great walk. It's relaxing and well worth the time it took to get there. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature.

We took bus from Hachinohe and intended to stop at Ishigedo to walk to nenokuchi ferry terminal. We decided to change our mind last minute and stopped at Chisholm-Itami to walk there (which is about 1.6 km). The weather was cold with the winds, so...More

I loved this walk, even in heavy rain with mud and water underfoot. It had been raining for a couple of days so the track was very wet and muddy and the stream was flowing strongly. There is not a lot of colour in the...More

We drove along the stream. There are many pretty waterfalls along the way. Not the kind that are absolutely breathtaking, but they are serene and up close. There are nice trails along the stream but it was rainy when we went so we didn't go...More

It is the most beautiful place I have ever visited in Japan. Silent, fresh gas and easy to access. If you are planning to go Aomori, dont miss it.

It is a must-go if you like nature. The view and water is gorgeous. Select a start and end to fit your physical condition and company. But be aware there are not many restrooms and water supply along the way.

Get off the bus at Yakeyama and walk upstream. To return to Hachinohe any of the bus stops between Yakeyama and Nenokuchi will take you there. Check at the tourist office in Hachinohe for a bus timetable. The other... More
