This Castle is run by volunteers. I love meeting friends here for an afternoon cuppa and home bakes.

Visited on the strength of internet reviews, especially with regard to the "Award winning" kitchen. We turned up to what looked like an abandoned and closed property and almost drove away. Wish we had. The staff are friendly enough, and the history, especially as expressed in "The Captains" notes are refreshing, BUT the place is run down and shabby with... More

Oh my gosh it looks very old from the outside and it gave the feel, to me, of something kind of secretive about it. We were warmly greeted by a lady at the front door who took great pleasure in telling us about Captain Hay and how he came about owning the castle. We learned a few more things about... More

Lovely little jewel. Homebakes are lovely. Staff are very accommodating. My son has tried some of Joan's wonderful pancake stack's, bannoffee is his favourite.

Tucked away just outside Turriff, this 16th century castle is well worth a visit. Its history and restoration story are fasconating.Has an excellent restaurant and nice woodland walks too

A group of 9 visited Delgatie for a tour and afternoon tea, as a birthday treat. After being allowed to explore the castle at our leisure, Joan and her staff provided the most excellent and friendly afternoon tea, including birthday cake. Nothing was too much bother, and everyone had an excellent experience. Highly recommended, thank you!

Castle and grounds have a rundown air about them. Booked into one of castle accommodations for 4 days but left after 3. The place was freezing with very steep, dangerous stairs to reach the accommodation. WiFi only available in kitchen but manager didn't know how to access it. Advertised as a 4 star attraction, but who gave this rating? Not... More

I was down a visit seeing family near Ellon and decided to visit one saturday morning. It was a lovely castle and the inside there was a lot to see and lots of information in each room about it. The castle also has a lovely little cafe with delicious cakes
