Not a lot of shade on the Malecon. I was there in the mornings, and it was hot! I preferred to venture into the city rather than spend time here, but it is good to see, especially the pier. Never saw it at night, we...More

While waiting for the bus leaving to Sonsonate we made a stroll around this area and made a coffee stop in restaurant. The view was nice and people were friendly. The buses leave around the mercado area which is just 2 blocks up from the...More

Definitely worth a trip (we were staying in El Tunco) to stroll the Malecon, drink and eat (seafood was a lot cheaper there than in Tunco) and to see the fish market and boats coming in with their catch. Paid $5 each way by taxi....More

The setting here is very nice. Right on the Pacific Ocean. Much hustle and bustle here. Street vendors, musicians. Very extensive menu, all of which is delicious.

The area is relatively safe, seafood is delicious and cheap, the people friendly and welcoming but the lack of garbage bins in the bay grounds combined with the poor culture of the Salvadorean population transforms what can beautiful experience into a repulsive one. Its so...More

Very well maintained, this is obviously the pride of the community of La Libertad. The west end offers the more upscale eateries, and on the east side of the Pier, you will find the more affordable seafood joints. The pier is a busy place, being...More
