We really enjoyed the walk up (and then back down) alongside this waterfall. We parked on the road near the lower car park, which was full. The path was all well maintained. The steps in of which there are many, were steep in places and we were very watchful of our youngest. The waterfall itself is beautiful . The war memorial is somewhere unusual and we enjoyed eating our picnic sat near it. The abbey ruins and nearby seat and observation point were also worth visiting.

We were tipped about this waterfall during our trip on the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse. The waterfall is located at Allerheiligen off the 500. There are 2 ways of visiting the waterfall: stream upwards or downwards. To visit the waterfall stream downwards (easier to walk) you need to start at the Klooster Allerheiligen. Unless you have someone to pick you up at the southern parking you still need to climb back up. The climb is light to moderate with stairs and even asphalt. It will be challenging for ones with a stroller (around 150 stairs).
The gorge is less crowded compared to the waterfall in Triberg. We ate at a restaurant at Klooster Allerheiligen. Make sure to visit the ruins of the Klooster as well.

After a lunch or coffee and cake in the restaurant of Kloster Allerheiligen, take a 4km round walk of the waterfalls. Recommend to do the walk clockwise, lots of steps along the waterfall and easier to walk back away from waterfall through woodland. The narrow gorge is truly stunning.

We visited here recently with the prelude that Allerheiligen and Triberg were having ongoing "who has the best waterfall" competition. We've been to Triberg before and I think the take away is that they are different kinds of beautiful. Triberg has some more visually stunning individual falls, and Allerheilligen has a more flowing beauty to the falls (albeit with nearly brown water).
Additionally, the Allerheiligen Kloster at the end of this trail (see separate review) definitely enhances the overall visit experience.

You can either park at the bottom of the water fall or park at the castle ruin at top. Then you can walk up and down the water fall. It has very nice views, the place is very calm. Lots of well maintained steps to take you up the water fall

This was a lovely walk down to the waterfall and past a gothic church ruin. Sturdy footwear is advisable and there's a lot of steps but it's a pleasant way to kill a couple of hours. There's a cafe and toilets too

We made a hike from Ottenhöfen through Edelfraungrab and the former All Saints monastery. Trails are marked well and you have a chance to enjoy some spectacular views over Black Forest, Rhein valley and even Alsace. The trail along waterfalls itself is rather crowded, as the attraction is very popular among the travellers from France and Germany.

This is a spot in which the attractive lies in its romantic and melancholic beauty, besides its historical significance. The place is quiet, surrounded by green everywhere, although some notices around the parking lot suggest not to leave visible items inside your car -maybe there have been robbers around some time-. The abbey itself has an imposing look, but its remains is all that is there left nowadays, so once you´ve seen it, there isn´t much to do. Nevertheless, there are a nice set of fountains, another building boasting a restaurant and a curious monument on a small hill. Apparently, this quiet place doesn´t look spoiled by massive tourism, there´s no noise at all but the river flowing a few metres away. One of the strong points of it, and a good reason for going there, is the number of waterfalls around. Although there are quite a few, one of them is just one kilometre from the abbey, being the trail along the river very easy. Besides that, there are also hiking routes, being well signallised, but don´t expect notices written in other language than German, as it happens in all the region.

The stream is as beautiful as a fairytale.
From start to finish this track is full of ‘ohhh’ and ‘ahhh’ moments.
