While walking round this lovely medieval village we were happy to soak up the peaceful atmosphere. But then, when we were approaching the Plaza Mayor, we were conscious of a growing noise, and assumed that the square must be full of tourists. When we got there, we did indeed see quite a few tourists, but they weren’t making any noise. The “racket” was coming from two tour guides who were giving an overly loud commentary on the sites of the village. Two questions Spring to mind: First of all - do they really need to use microphones? Your customers are all standing within a few feet of you! And secondly - can’t you stagger the tours so that you are not both shouting in the same place and at the same time? Tour guides are supposed to add value to a place - these ones were an absolute pain in the proverbial.

This foundation does not allow access to the castle or cathedral if you do not hire a guided tour. Also, their guides do not speak English. It is strange for such a tourist place. I do not recommend

We visited the city and the catedral with Fundación Santa Maria. Total cost was 3,50 €/person. The guide was very nice and she explained everything very well. It tooks two hours in total. The visit was in Spanish, I'm not sure if this service is available in English. Albarracín is a beautiful town to visit, an incredible place. It is a must!!
