This is a lovely walk - but it isn’t flat!
May 2019 • Couples
This is a lovely walk, and an ideal way to enjoy the river and make your way into the old town. Be aware however that it is not a flat walk and there are some quite steep rocky sections to climb. Not a problem for the averagely fit, but perhaps not for the elderly if they have dodgy knees!

Wonderful walking

During a short visit to Albarracín we chose to take a walk along the river on the ‘Paseo Fluvial’ which is a short walk around the town. We were impressed with the effort put into making the walk interesting and varied. Bridges, ladders, mills, great views and places to dip your toes in the water. It really is excellent and no problem at all for our 4 year old who absolutely loved it.

Nice walk

You have both great views and feel in the country on this short walk. Parts are steep, but sturdy handrails make that easy. Not good for little kids.

walk it to have the best views of Albarracin
Jan. 2016
A very pleasant walk along the river to enjoy the best views of Albarracin and also to better understand the natural protection that the town had back in the days. If you have kids then it is a must!

Important part of a visit to Albarracin
Aug. 2015 • Couples
Our hotel owner (from Hotel Doña Blanca) recommended that we start our visit by taking this one hour path because he felt that it would give us a good understanding and appreciation for the strategic positioning and construction of the medieval town and its natural defenses. Sure enough, you could easily understand the difficulties of trying to attack this town: first you would have to climb down one side of a steep and rocky cliff, then cross the river and immediately try to climb up the other steep and rocky side to get to the city walls, which could be easily defended. At the end of the one hour walk, which generally has good signage, you climb some steps to end up at one end of the medieval city. The path is generally an easy and safe walk, but it has a couple of places in the middle where it is a bit rocky and you just need to take your time. You will be in shade for most of the walk and it will be refreshing since it is along the side of the river.

If you don't make it the first part of your tour, be sure to take the path at some point for a better appreciation of the entire situation. And since I could not find any other place to put this as a review, I will mention that I felt that the overall visit to Albarracin was well worth the 24 hour stop. Not a very well known site, of which probably close to 50% of the tourists were from other parts of Spain... and perhaps it should stay that way!

Lovely walk along river
Jun. 2015 • Couples
Decided to walk the 'sendero fluvial' and wasn't disappointed. It was a lovely walk along the river, passing old water mills and enjoying pretty scenery and great views of the village and walls.

Definately recommend this to anyone visiting Albarracin.
