In a stark contrast to the brilliant white and brown buildings of the surrounding streets, this church is an uncompromising strong grey, and is dedicated to St John the Baptist. At odds with this small Canarian town, the early c20th architecture would not look out of place in sombe Glasgow, such is the grey forebidding appearance . But it is... More

What an impressive church. It is like a cathedral, built in a Gothic style, but it dates from the 1920's.

An interesting church - on the way into the center from the parking area. For anyone interested in Catholic churches this would be great.

This Gaudi-esque church is what catches your eye as you approach Arucas. It is impressive and in our opinion is best viewed from outside. Inside it is rather plain and has no 'wow' factor.

There is something strange about this place. Despite its 'gothic' style, they only finished building it 40 years ago. And they are quite upfront about the fact that they chose the style to show off the skills of the local stone mason trade. The result is a church that doesn't look like it belongs in the place, and is only... More

A impressing building in a charming town. Well worth a visit both the town and the church. Make a stop here.

We stopped off here for 30 minutes as part of an Island "highlights" tour. It is a nice looking building and worth spending half an hour looking round it but I wouldn't spend much longer than that.
