Very stylish museum with 2 floors of fabulous fashion and helpful multilingual staff. Shop selling gorgeous bits and bobs (I bought a fabric covered glasses case, some wacky cards and a fabby Basque beret!).......escalator exterior leading up to the heady heights with views across Getaria....breathtaking.....my third visit, say no more!

As others have mentioned, this is an interesting museum, the displays are attractively presented in a large modern space. The film at the beginning is a must-watch. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that the museum was a little hard to find. It's at the top of a fairly steep hill, and can be accessed by an... More

A wonderful museum with displays of the various trends that this designer was famous for...from dresses created for hollywood stars, royalty, the rich and famous! The exhibits highlight the designs that had one famous socialite so enraptured that he even designed and produced her nightwear!

It was such a pleasure to visit this museum. The museum was situated on top of a view that provides a great view of the city and the port. The exterior of the museum was elegant and interior was modern. The exhibitions flow very well and of course all the garments on display were gorgeous. When we visited, there was... More

This museum showing the work by the world famous stylist is highly recommended. The modern building houses a well organized showing of his work and one realizes it was a success also built on hard work and an intimate knowledge of materials and techniques

Very cool building... the contrast with the fishing village is a great setting for this museum... the museum presentation continually reflects Cristobal Balenciaga's Spanish heritage. This building in this location immediately sets the tone that while Spain may appear simple it's people can be leaders in a world that requires inspiration, innovation, and application... The display is a good one... More

As the almost polar opposite of a fashion aficionado I was frankly gobsmacked that I actually enjoyed visiting this museum with my better half - a walk around the town wasn't an option apparently. The building itself is striking and the displays well laid out. The introductory film is a must if you know nothing about Balenciaga. Unfortunately half the... More

This imposing large museum is a very interesting contemporary design attached to the original home. Half of the museum was closed for a new installation so the admission was half price. The video is worth stopping for before you visit the galleries. In the galleries we saw, there were examples of fashion and some details about how the cuttings and... More

My friend was a fashion major and I quite like following fashion so we had to visit the museum. The museum is open and filled with light. The clothing is well-displayed. You can see all sides of the clothing and the notes in each room explain the history and what you're seeing. There are notes in English.
