Checked in today for a one day spa with a friend. We had the £99 pick n mix offer. The booking system was pretty poor. Despite two calls I never received any booking confirmation. I added breakfast to the booking for £10 and advised that...More

I have been coming to the spa at least twice annually for the last 5 years, a few years ago this place was great, but lately it has gone very much downhill. Booking treatments is hard, limited options, no deep tissue options. Poor customer service...More

Despite varied reviews' I have to say the spa was rather pleasant and relaxing. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Grounds are quite wonderful and certainly well worth a long walk before breakfast. Spa itself clean and well run. My masseuse, Geraldine Ridgway, an agency...More

Sadly I have decided to only give this spa a two. I usually come to this spa 4 maybe 5 times a year for the past few years but sadly I doubt I will return. The changes really are not for the best ad the...More

This used to be a luxury spa but following change of ownership it is heading in the wrong direction. Room furnishings tired. Lots of little niggles e.g. Cold water tap in Spa not working properly, cups running out, floors running with water. Grounds and gardens...More

Spent two nights there for a business meeting. It is designed for a girls or couples retreat. I wished the rooms had thermostats but understood this would be a high cost. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I did request a newspaper but never got one....More

Management seriously needs to do something about their problems otherwise they will stop getting clientele. I certainly will not recommend this “spa” to anyone! Complete waste of money.

Dear Alan, Thank you so much for my mention within your testimonial. It was much appreciated. As you are aware I am a more mature therapist which unfortunately many high street salons, spas and agencies seem to have issues with. What happened to good old fashioned experience, knowledge and wisdom along with the ability to think out side of the tick box. Recently I was rudely asked my age which I am sure you are well aware of The Equality Act 2010 put in place to protect an individuals characteristics, one being ageism.... This local high street spa who carried out an interview in the reception area was more concerned about what products I was trained in as apposed to asking about the range of clientele I have worked with in my 25 year career.... that being all ages, cancer patients and a hospice environment. I was appalled and explained that I was not at liberty to answer that question, however I knew even before that I would not be placed and thank goodness too! I have to say on behalf of Life House Spa they do employ a range of therapists including the more mature. I would have been offered a permanent position if the distance was not an issue. Luckily after being in the industry a very long time I have a good private client base that keeps my ticking along. Thanks Alan. x

When I was at Lifehouse Spa in November, the bar area was lovely and clean and the staff were super helpful, unlike Eden Hall Spa where I went in August which was dirty and slovenly in every area; bar, lounge, pool, etc.
