Excellent refurbishment. Interesting exhibits on the restoration of centuries-old churches after the 2013 earthquake. The current exhibit on works of native son and National Artist for Sculpture Napoleon Abueva is a must-see.

I took a 3 day 2 night tour of Cebu and Bohol which was arranged by Livecebu tours which was an excellent trip.

In Bohol the tour includes a riverboat lunch and visit to a local village (all staged but quite good anyway).

Then onto the Chocolate hills which is a unique site and really should be a World Heritage site by now.
Also included were, Compact Blood site, Baclayon Church and museum, Tariser viewing, Large Python, Man made forrest.

Overnight I stayed in Panglao which has lots of hotels from 4 star to backpacker and is a very nice beach resort. Diving boating and dolphin / Whale watching.

All in all a great couple of days and well worth the effort. I used Livecebu tours who organized everything including ferry, hotel, tour guide, transport and boat for the Dolphins. I have to say thay did an excellent job all round and given the number of things to see it is worth getting someone to do all the leg work for you.

Bohol is an easy place to get to from Manila so if you find yourself in the Philippines with a couple of days free this would be and ideal escape.

it's true what they say in most travel forums about bohol- people there are out to wriggle every penny out of you. In RIO VERDE floating restaurant, my 7y/o girl is considered an adult so we had to pay for her full which is PhP350 excluding the municipal tax, even though she's small enough to pass for a 5 y/o. don't ask for consideration- they do not know what the word means! there goes honesty for you. we should have lied through our teeth about her age.

Museums are among my favorite places. It speaks a lot of the place's history, culture, traditions, and ancient technology.

It excited me to know there's one in the City of Tagbilaran, and so we paid a visit. I was touched by the staff's sincerity - including the guard - trying to explain to us the displays. They even tried to recall the common names of the bird in Boholano and Tagalog. They were sorry that there were no labels.

As I went around and made a closer look at each piece in the museum, I was silently wishing that there be captions, explanations, background of each piece... some had, most had nothing.

It was good to see paintings of local heroes but wished there were more writings and stories about them. I am hoping that the government would invest to improve the place - and all the other museums nationwide.

Without Bohol museum, I would not be able to appreciate the "Chocolate Hills", the "tarsier" and all other unique experiences in Bohol.

The written text and diorama were very helpful.

This attraction currently closed as of mid March 2022 due to renovation work. We were not able to enter. I'm hoping someone from TA will update the site when it's open again.
